In what world is a person's instinct to cry & whine when "his team" gets a commitment from one of the best guards available?👍 2 -
I put his ignorant *** on ignore, next to JFCats for that moronic post lol
Yeah.... imagine if Kentucky took a guard like STEPH CURRY from a bottom feeding school like Davidson...a player from a school that is "so beneath them" (roll eyes)
Remember Antonio Reeves? He wasn't a bad player for Kentucky. Came from a small bottom feeder school, I believe it was Illinois State. Imagine if, back in the day, Kentucky had taken a player named LARRY BIRD from a small bottom feeder school like Indiana State.
Yeah.... nothing good can come from those small bottom feeder schools, that's for sure.Leave a comment:

In this day and age, I think players develop at different paces. It’s why some great players in recent years started at smaller schools. We tried getting players from Bama, Florida, Oklahoma St., Pittsburgh… we saw how that worked out this year. For every Oweh, there’s a Brea who came from Dayton. Didn’t Dalton Knect (sp) for Tennessee come out of a small school only to win SEC POY?
ONe thing for sure is he did so against UCONN in the NCAA Round of 32. I game example but I think others have said he played 4 games against Quad 1 or 2 teams last year and all 4 he represented very well.
If you go back in the day at UK the biggest transfers were Macy, Anderson, Pope and a few others but those were some of the biggest. I would say this transfer has the opportunity to be UK's version of Waller Clayton (Florida).
Wilkins will be a sophomore, so ideally Pope gets this thing turned around and we have him for multiple seasons. He has a lot of upside.
I do think we need a couple more high percentage shooters.👍 2Leave a comment:

Relax brother....it was mostly sarcasm by me....just enjoy the moment....don't overthink it
I remember last summer all the talk about 96 Kentucky depth blah blah Blah blah. Will never and I mean ever make that mistake again. First and foremost, Pope is coaching to save his job, another year like what we just witnessed and he will be looking for a realtor..
Add Stokes and some depth, at least we have potential and a true game changing 5 star, that's a start...👍 1Leave a comment:

Did you really just mention Steph Curry? The same Curry that turned down Duke Carolina The Whitehouse The Pope and every other school that overlooked him in the 10th grade?

Larry Bird would have never been at Indiana, Kentucky was in the hunt. Louisville would have been in the hunt had Crum beat him in a game of horse,Crum told me that himself..
Reeves, fair enough. Are you talking about 1st year Reeves or second year Reeves?
I hope his character is good and he can handle kentuckyLeave a comment:

Good luck, hope Wilkins can play under bright lights, 24/7 pressure. Hope he adjusts to not being the focal point game plan..

Good to hear. Regardless, I hope team chemistry is in sync,no chaos.

I see potential in Pope. His first year before injuries hit, was feeling pretty good.
Hopefully we have a great season and never have these conversations again.Leave a comment:

Matt Jones 45 minutes ago states on X, UK will have either Freeman or Rancik commit tomorrow.

My guess is this would be the backup to whatever starting Power Forward we land.
I wasn't familiar with him, but from quick research it sounds like he's primarily an undersized Power Forward at 6'7", where as Stokes would be a Small Forward. I would imagine that McBride would play the Ansley Almanor (also 6'7") roll to whoever ends up being Andrew Carr (Donnie Freeman or Sebastian Rancik)... because while having Freeman AND Rancik would be ideal, that doesn't seem like it's going to be probable.Leave a comment:

I wonder if this McBride guy is our back up to Stokes. He shoots 40% on 3s and takes 3.1 a game. Wonder if Pope has heard anything on Stokes, isn't he supposed to commit tonight or something like that?Leave a comment:
