Other than a couple of put back dunks against St. John’s, Quaintance has not shown me that he has the tools to be a dominate player. It would be risky to give him big bucks just to come back and not be able to help.

Would love to see a healthy JQ back next year. He came back too early IMO.
My guess is he goes to the NBA. As we know ready or not they draft on potential. If he decides to come back likely will be at another school.Comment

So spend another two million on an if?What if his draft stock drops and he wants to come back to UK next season, what d3/4o you think the ceiling should be on NIL fund should be ?
would he be a priority in the 3/4 mil $ range? My opinion is no. He is damaged goods. I would consider.taking him back if I were UK but they shelled out big bucks this year for nothing (so far).In the grand scheme of things, we are nothing. We are no one.

Yes. His injury/surgery was not unusual. Lots of data on how long the recovery is. Was stupid to believe he’d recover months quicker than most everyone else. But a year and a half…would be unusual to not recover well. Wouldn’t that be a MUCH safer gamble? Wouldn’t 2 mil be a pretty good investment for a lottery pick by today’s reported rates?Comment

It's a risk. If he comes back scared an never plays well again, it's a wasted two million.
If he comes back and is 1st Team AA, then it would be worth it.
Which happens.
Which is likely to happen.
I don't know. Is that worth the risk with a limited budget.
Fortunately, he's still projected as a Lottery Pick for now. He's more than likely gone to the NBA along with that money that could have brought Wilkerson, Ament, Wilson or some other player that could have actually helped the team.In the grand scheme of things, we are nothing. We are no one.
