I'd be happy to have a healthy Quaintance on the team next year.

At the right price, I would too. I'm just not sure he's a guy you throw a ton of money at next year. If you can get Moreno back, JQ becomes less and less of a priority.

I let the people paying the bills worry about price.

JQ is as good as gone. Was he ever really here?

If he's really gone, then he was just slightly, barely here more than Sharpe.

I hate to say it, but JQ will probably be bouncing around just fine at the combine.

The people making the decisions didn't make the right ones this year in terms of how to spend the money. They cannot overspend on JQ next year.

It's a lot easier to be the Monday Morning QB. However, since we don't know what anyone is actually making, it's even more speculation than that.

JQ coming off a season ending ACL injury was a big gamble.

would he be a priority in the 3/4 mil $ range? My opinion is no. He is damaged goods. I would consider taking him back if I were UK but they shelled out big bucks this year for nothing (so far).
You certainly don't pay him more than where his draft stock has him. I don't know what we are rumored to be paying him now, but NBA first year salary range drops below $4 million after about the 18th pick. and below 3 million after about the 25th pick. Not sure if he will drop that far or not, but if he does drop well out of lottery range, and can prove he's truly healthy, then an NIL in the 2-3 Mil range isn't out of the question, especially if he can boost himself back into a lottery or top 5 pick, if not the number one pick. Then he would come out well on the positive side of the pay scale, by tripling or quadrupling his first year NBA salary.

It all depends on his knee to me. IF he is amenable to return , what is the health of his knee. We have already kind of screwed up 1 season gambling on his health, do we really want to risk another unless we are sure he is 100% ready to go. Pope's offense requires a mobile center who is an excellent passer. Since we don't play good defense ( because our guards aren't quick or physical enough) we also need a rim protector. Moreno is not ( at least this year) that guy. Unless he gets CONSIDERABLY stronger and improves his passing he will not be next year either. We need another skilled big man .

Does anybody else kind of think his injury lingering as long as it has is a little suspect? Or is it just me?

I don’t think it matters this year. This team is nowhere near good enough to do anything in March. Just don't have enough talent

I think they have enough talent but they don't the right talent. Pope constructed this roster pretty poorly in an effort to address glaring weaknesses from last season. We don't have the kind of center his system requires and we don't have a reliable three point shooter (though Chandler has hit a bunch lately) to run the action that he wants to run.
