Then we better move some MAC teams into the SEC. Kentucky / UNC / Kansas / NC State / Virginia are all in the same type of boat, on that sinks fully every 4 years, they spend 2 year bailing out the boat and then have a decent year of sailing every 4th year. Been that way for about 70 years on average. Stoops has had an electronic bilge pump for a few years but it lost its motor about 3 years ago.

Don’t underestimate the Clemson/South Carolina rivalry. It would immediately be one of the biggest games in the SEC
Add Clemson and FSU to the conference and call it a day. UNC has lost their basketball program until they find a better coach and their football program is a running joke with Belichick and his girlfriend

SEC can do way better than UNC. Their basketball tradition isn’t enough.

Sure, it is. Especially in a conference that traditionally isn't basketball-power heavy.

UNC is one of the best public universities in America (save the jokes), and they would bring in eyes and revenue.

The SEC could do a lot worse.

Clemson might be a better first pick, but Duke and Carolina would be right behind.

Bring in UNC, Miami, Virginia, West Virginia, Kansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma St, IU, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Nebraska, and New Mexico. Leave the NCAA all together. Make all new rules and dominate the college sports landscape.

I agree totally but those good years are gone. The Rapture will occur before this happens.

I have heard rumors (on podcasts and such) that the SEC and Big Ten have been secretly planning their expansion moves together, for when the ACC finally implodes. Some have speculated that the Big Ten and SEC, to avoid bidding wars, have already decided which teams go where.

According to these rumors, the SEC covets UNC above all other schools, and would concede Florida St. and Clemson to the Big Ten in exchange for UNC. It is also speculated that UVA to the SEC is also part of the deal.

So I think F$U and Clemson go to the Big Ten and UNC and UVA go to the SEC.

The Big Ten will add two more big name brands and traditional powerhouses. The SEC stays a regional power, keeping the conference regional and contiguous, while expanding their market slightly. Also, the SEC adds two academically highly respected schools, which improves their academic reputation (which is lacking nationally).

The Big Ten and SEC will stop there, to avoid watering things down too much.

Next, the Big 12 will then offer a life boat to some of the bigger name schools. The Big 12 offers more stability, so they will be able to pick and choose which schools they want.

Now which schools they take is hard to say, but I think they will probably cap at 20. They don’t want to split their TV deals more than that.

After that the ACC will likely be left with 9 members (with ND as a non-football member), at best. Then they will have to try to steal some teams from the lesser conferences.

The ACC may survive, but will be a shell of their former self,

I think that would be pretty close to a death blow to the ACC.

Seems like college sports basically now consists of just the SEC and Big 10 and everyone else trying to get in the SEC or Big 10. Just two super conferences run everything now.

Louisville should change their name to the Locusts, every conference they join, seems to either die, or come damn close to it.

UNC and UVA are good moves imo. Keeps the SEC "southern". I know that's not that important, but I like it.

^ Same here. I liked the regional identity that the conferences used to have and hope the SEC can try to maintain at least some semblance of theirs.
