Wanna know how I know I have a sports problem? Here I was getting hyped for a basketball game in July for an alumni team that really doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot .lol.

I can't understand how La Familia isn't a full squad of Kentucky alumni?

Of the 58 players Cal sent to the NBA while at Kentucky, not at all are playing in the NBA.

Dakari Johnson, James Young, many others would compliment and fill out this roster.

Not interested at all to be honest. If it's not true blue i could care less..

I really don’t understand the need to come on here and whine about it. It’s thoroughly entertaining to some of us. I don’t know why half the posts in this thread are trying to downgrade it for everyone else. Are y’all trying to understand it, but don’t get it or just want to be contrarian?

Also James Young wasn’t good last year. It’s a fine line with all the different leagues some of these guys are playing in travel-wise. Some of the Asian and Caribbean leagues are still going for instance. For other players, after a couple years off, boom, the skill level is gone.

I think they have three players who are non-UK grads, one a Lexington native, another Enes Kanter's brother. However the DJ Burns guy is very fun to watch and is maybe the most personable guy on the roster.

I don't think they can win it, simply because the two centers seem out of shape moreso than last year. As someone said, Willie is near the end of his playing career probably.

But watching Goodwin and Whitney is super entertaining given what they did here. Archie is by far the most electric player on the team in terms of the gear he has with the ball in his hands.

All said, it's basketball in July with some Kentucky players. I can't complain.

Last year Young looked so fat and out of shape that he was barely playable. And I’d bet that Dakari (who was too heavy and lead-footed even when he was young) is in similar condition today.

I don’t mind a couple non-UK guys if they have UK connections (Warrick is from Lexington and played at Northern Kentucky, and Kanter’s brother was a cat). At least they’re still in prime playing shape.

On a side note, used to hang out with a chic back in the day who did that, would pick her up after the show, Dudes be out in the parking lot mad as hell looking at me picking up this chic. Downtown Louisville one night back in the day thought it was about to pop off lol lol lol........
