Son and his friends went. He said two jerkwads got thrown out of the game and the crowd cheered lol.

He said the best moments were Kahlil Whitney. Crowd was really behind him (Archie too). It's interesting because my son's 21 so he doesn't know the lore of those two, but he could tell how much the crowd was behind them.

He and his friends went to every game last year and he says this team is better, mostly because of Archie. Although the frontcourt might be an issue. He says Willie's badly out of shape and can only play a minute or two at a time.

I think it’s cool that it’s Whitney and Archie …two players that had disappointing experiences as UK players …starring for this team.

Makes for a nice little summer redemption story for them to come back to Lexington and succeed this time. I’m glad the crowd was behind them.

Yeah, it really is a great story.

It's very hard as a fan sometimes for us to humanize players. We get so freaking close to the games that the players sometimes might as well be automatons out there. We're all guilty of it.

I sort of love that the TBT can serve as reclamation projects for some of these guys in terms of their relationships with UK fans.

TBT wins on a "target basket" by none other than Archie "BRRRR" Goodwin, off the steal and assist by the Dragon.

He and Khalil Whitney are getting the royal welcome by UK fans, which I love to see, considering their UK careers did not end up like either wanted.

I enjoy watching these games. Watching UK former players play in July what's not to like. This will most likely be Willie's last year as he is out of shape and getting to old for this type of game. So when is the next game ?

Pretty exciting finish. Was convinced we were beat.

Watching Sean Woods coach is a great what-could-have-been. Had he had a better handle on his emotions, I think he could've been a head guy at a big school. He had the energy and intensity all these big-time coaches have...but therein was his undoing.

Sorry … I love this team and the guys on it, but, IMO, they look terrible. Out of shape, cannot shoot a lick … but then, who wouldn’t be at this stage?

Two quick notes on this. The OP actually asked how people felt about it. So those saying they don't care - like I did - were answering the question.

Second - I guess we now know how an all All-UK-Player team would fare....they would get beaten by our current, not yet at 100% strength squad whose only been practicing together a few times.

I say that 2nd part to help illustrate one of the reasons I'm indifferent about TBT - the basketball isn't that great.

Late responding to this, but I reread the OP’s post and he asked how we felt about this years team. Not about the tournament in general. To me that implied he was looking for feedback from those paying attention to it.

Reading comprehension is lost on some of these folks…but yes, that was the question. So far it’s looking like the team makeup is pretty good, I’m questioning the substitution patterns a bit, but we hung in there and got a win. Hopefully we rattle off 4 more! GBB
