I watched a couple of games last year and enjoyed watching some of the players. Will it be on TV again this year ?

The La Familia/Louisville game last year was a blast.

      Just insanely entertaining. Don't sleep!

This might be our last chance to witness Kahlil "The Dragon" Whitney in all of his glory, so that alone should draw some eyes.

Hopefully the twins show up in shape, they looked slow and out of shape last year imo…should be fun!
I don’t say this to be judgmental, but why should I give it a chance? If I don’t watch any of our former players in the NBA, and if I don’t watch any college basketball games that don’t involve Kentucky, what would I find interesting about it?

I get it for the serious basketball fans, and I’ll certainly wish the team the best, but I just can’t get excited about it. I’m not hating on it and am happy others enjoy it, but that’s about it.

To each his own! I personally don’t watch much NBA either but this just has a different feel for me! It takes on a very college basketball feel when the alumni teams play each other. But I’m not here to tell anyone what to do lol, just a suggestion for a slow time in sports

I won’t be making sure to arrange a day to be ready for a La Familia game—like I do UK games. But if I’m on the couch when they play that’s what I’ll watch.

Kinda surprised it’s lasted as long as it has. $1 million prize and winner take all. 63 teams get nothing. If La Familia wins then they split 1 mil among 11 players and a bunch of coaches. Minus taxes. WCS probably got enough out of the NBA to be doing fine. Seems some of these guys would be taking time off from “real jobs.”

But I appreciate any former players doing anything that keeps them connected to UK. Even if in an unofficial capacity.

I think this is different than watching or following our guys in the NBA., Mainly because most of our former guys in the NBA are the only former player on the team or maybe there's one other. There always used to be posts about "how would an all-UK player team fare" or what if this group of guys played together. With the TBT we sort of get a hybrid of that. Most of these guys are currently playing or recently played overseas. With the exception of a couple who played in college last year. Most of these guys had various opportunities in the NBA, so I just think it's cool to see a group of players like this come together and have some fun trying to win a little coin. Can't say if I'll watch all the games. I'll watch the ones I can, but it's still fun to watch regardless. Not sure why people come into a thread about the Tournament just to tell us how much they don't care about it and how they won't watch it.

Two quick notes on this. The OP actually asked how people felt about it. So those saying they don't care - like I did - were answering the question.

Second - I guess we now know how an all All-UK-Player team would fare....they would get beaten by our current, not yet at 100% strength squad whose only been practicing together a few times.

I say that 2nd part to help illustrate one of the reasons I'm indifferent about TBT - the basketball isn't that great.

I'll probably watch most of the games. As far as talent between last year's team and this year's team I feel like maybe a slight nod to last year cause bledsoe when he cared could go off for 35 anytime. Not sure this year's team has that. I could be wrong though.

I love it. It’s a fun time and the players seem to really feed off being back at UK. I wish they would change the name though.

There’s like 25 current UK players in the NBA and another 10-15 that are on the cusp or headlining in Euroe….then you get to these guys. So yeah the current UK team can beat the #40-50 best former UK players that are still in playing age.
