I wear an article of clothes whether it be shirt, hat, socks or lounge pants with UK on it and if we lose, I’ll switch up what I wear the next game until I find the lucky article of clothing.. 😂 Also, if we start to lose by 10+, I turn the game off and we usually start playing better when I don’t watch. I think it gives the team bad luck if I watch sometimes.. ðŸ¤¦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ¤¦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ¤¦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸

Why am I the way I am? 😂

Oh that's right, the internet and smart phones came along and now (including myself sometimes) spend half the time on social media crying blanking and complaining because every play every move that wasn't executed to perfection lol.....

In all reality, just like to watch the game alone by myself...
I have a hard time watching with anyone else also, In my early years I listened to games with my uncles and grand dad
no one spoke during live ball action. That is just how I learned to listen/watch UK basketball. I am as intense as anyone
      (including platers ansdcoaches)

I watch the game by myself and basically stand in front of my big screen TV. My family isn't a fan of my comments during the game. And if we play good wearing a particular article(s) of UK gear I wear that for each game until we lose. Then I'll switch it up.

I used too in my early 20’s only wearthe same shorts and KY shirt. Also I only would drink Bud Light. After the Zona 97 game, I threw away both and stopped the stupid superstitions. I still drink the beer however.

I always watch in the basement. If we are losing I will turn it off and DVR it and follow the game on a thread or sometimes not at all as it seems like we start playing better lol. I buy a new hat at the beginning of each new season and switch after we lose for the year.

Thank you there Matt. Glad to be back. This site was always more of a Family atmosphere and I missed that.

I'm the same way if I'm doing something one specific way and they are winning I continue on doing it the whole game. If they start to lose I change it up to try and change the mojo.

My dad used to “go to the radio” if the Cats were struggling, which meant he’d leave the house to listen to the game in his truck.

Can’t speak to the success rate, but given the number of championships we didn’t win, it must not have been great.

Not necessarily a superstition, but when I was younger, I'd wear every Kentucky shirt I owned during a game, and I swore it felt like it helped the team's performance, lol.

Sorry for bringing this back up, I'm new here, and I've been looking at a few of the older threads.

I don't have a superstition about the UK games.

However, while I don't watch UL or Duke, when they are playing and I see on some site that they are losing big or down in the last few minutes, I WILL NOT TUNE INTO THAT GAME. EVERY time that I have, they end up pulling it out. If either of them is down 10 with .30 seconds to play, I'm not turning it on. I'm convinced that I personally am responsible for many a UL and Dook comeback... if i don't tune in, they will lose.

Weird thing about lucky clothes, though: they're difficult to figure out. For instance I have this black sweatshirt I'll wear that has been on me during some of the biggest wins of my lifetime. BUT I also wore it during some horrific losses...I believe even Wisconsin.

What does that mean? I brought it back out, tempting fate, for Illinois this past season. Heck yeah. Then I re-wore it for Tennessee. Disaster.

So, you know, who knows? It's kind like when I pitched back in the day and was careful to step over the chalk. Sometimes I'd do that and come back out and strike everybody out. More than a few times I did it and come back out and some idiot would hit a 500-foot bomb against me. Such is superstition.
Trust me, you gotta burn that shirt. do it today....
