Besides, it would be difficult to have more tolerance than that place.
The mods here are terrific. Tolerant to a point. All in all, they run a tight ship. This is the only board I read. Long time member.

      I agree with the OP.

I also came from RR and loved it, but hated the division that was apparent there.

If you posted anything positive, you were labeled a “sunshine pumper” and if you said anything negative, you were a “negative Nancy” or Debbie downer.”

I haven’t been labeled either one on here, yet. I hope that continues.

I have posted quite a bit already and no one has called me stupid for my opinions.

      I like that.

I really like this place, mainly because everyone seems to get along very well.

Hope it continues to be a safe haven for Kentucky basketball conversation.

It might get a little saltier when the seasons start, but never anything wild or out of line.

Will be interesting for all of us to see the temperament of the board during an active game thread. If we had a huge group here before and we picked up a new 10% then things would be expected to retain its old flavor. But if we basically increased 5 fold/10 fold/maybe more then it’s likely going to take on more a RR feel than the traditional WCN feel. Which—as long as the trolls, imposters and jerks don’t chime in—will be just fine.

All true UK fan perspectives should be welcomed. Eternal optimists, the easily discouraged and everyone in between—so long as they’re hoping the best for the Cats!

I try my best to not post during games; unless we are getting hosed by the refs or playing really, really bad.

Just my opinion, but I think with the dust settling some of the more solid posters are sticking here and/or discord, and some of the “troublemakers” are starting to pop back up on ON3.

I look forward to this place during the season.

Agree with this, but for some, it's not WHAT they are saying, but HOW they are saying it. That was one of the major issues of the other board - disagreeing by calling people names, crude and unnecessary innuendos or metaphors, etc.

And basically saying certain players are trash or awful. Would it be so difficult to say something like - player X is having an issue staying in front of his man?

Yeah over at RR there were a ton of keyboard tough guys. No need for it.

I tend to be very anti official which upsets some people. If I see Don Daily or Doug Shows I go into a bad mood.

                  In game threads.

Have you ever looked at Jon Scott’s UK site? The information it contains on officials is wild.

If an official ever called a T on the Cats, he’s probably listed on there. Even obituaries lol.

I think it’s fair to say that the entire fanbase goes into a bad mood if Shows is involved. SOB should never be allowed to do another UK game. UK’s win % with Shows involved is something like 67%, quite low vs UK’s true win%, especially when considering the number of games Shows has had his hands on. In general, I’d say a good rule is that average fans should never have to become familiar with the names of officials…once an official’s name is broadly recognized, that means they’re having too much impact on the outcomes of games. Adams is another one I cannot stand, but I think it’s just general incompetence with him and his love for getting camera time.

Official trashing is fair game if they deserve it.

Unfortunately, our friend Lighthouse just passed away. He really was an official and would break down calls from an expert's point of view. It provided clarity for calls that sometimes use spectators didn't completely understand.

Our cleanest officiated game of last season was the one against LSU. Three guys nobody had ever heard of did it, they were awesome, nobody complained, almost no reviews, game was over quickly, let's move on.

Seems like when these "celebrity" (in their minds) refs do games, there's all kinds of drama. And my hot take is that they want it that way.

The best ref story in UK lore is the one where they played a game in Illinois in horrific weather, and they had to get high school refs from out of the crowd to officiate it.

Now that the migration has calmed down, we expect that some people will go back over to On3, some will stay here, and some will split.

We hope to retain as many new folks as possible. It's just sort of a dead time as far as Kentucky sports, so it's important to keep the momentum up as best we can.

                              Cheers!
I did make an on3 account and will check it out, but this place is great and I will be sticking around here.

There are a lot of people on Rafters I really like. But the trolls and the jackasses forced me to join House of Blue which doesn’t have the clutter. I still will post often on the House of Blue and there is some great information on there. But I will also post here- reminds me of Wildcatfaithful.
