Impressed early with this board

I came over from Rupp Rafters for reasons already discussed at length. My first new topic was one that it’s easy to understand why many fans would stay away from it, the one about least favorite previous players. That thread has since taken on a life I didn’t expect, weaving through topics like Cal’s deficiencies, the merits of star rankings, the value of Kentucky born players, the contrast in the philosophies and roster building of Pitino vs Cal vs Pope, and the ways recruiting has changed over the last few decades. There’s been a good bit of history retold in that thread now, including things I wasn’t aware of. On Rupp Rafters there was so much bickering and finger pointing, and often a lack of substance; a lot of threads devolved to what amounted to pissing contests.

I thought I’d take the time to say I appreciate the civility here and the depth of conversation.

Now that the migration has calmed down, we expect that some people will go back over to On3, some will stay here, and some will split.

We hope to retain as many new folks as possible. It's just sort of a dead time as far as Kentucky sports, so it's important to keep the momentum up as best we can.

I agree, the bickering/ pissing⁶ contests were to the point that I pretty much quit posting.

So far I haven't seen any of that here and it's very refreshing. I'm posting here more than I did in the last 10 years on RR

The thing about Rivals is that it's such a big brand and it has so many different people posting that it's nigh impossible to weed out trolls and jerks.

You have to want to find this place. We have cut out our own little corner of the internet, and while we might disagree frequently, it's still a family. We are just happy that the family has grown a bit in the past couple weeks.

I think that if we just ignore the trolls and not respond to them, they go away pretty quickly. Same with the jerks and their name calling.
civility goes a long way and agreeing to disagree should be the order of the day..

This reminds me of back in the mid 2000's , active people here on a day to day.

Site was hit by a Isis attack from my understanding, we lost alot of people after that.

Agree, but unfortunately some people do a poor job of policing themselves. I'm hoping there's just a tiny bit more moderation here, and so far, I think it looks like the mods have a little less tolerance than RR. And that's a good thing. Besides, it would be difficult to have more tolerance than that place.

I joined rivals in 2013 and I did enjoy the original rafters, but I don’t see myself wanting to go to on3 long term. Heck, it doesn’t even recognize any of my emails or allow me to get on my WeWant9 name. I think this place and the discord is where I’ll get my UK talking fix.
