    Andrija Jelavic

Does anyone know a definite date that Andrija Jelavic is going to arrive on campus. I’ve saw many things and seems like first week in July was the most consistent answer but never saw confirmation. Does anyone know for sure? A link would be fantastic!

Matt Jones suggested that it was an immigration issue, and that the people in the athletic department are staying tight lipped.

He also suggested that it's better if Kentucky fans dont start making it a "thing" (ala Enes and Big Z) because of the temperamental nature of this particular administration, re: immigration.

Whether or not you're a fan of this current administration, you have to admit that that sort of tracks.

We should just sit back and let this one play out.

Duke has Sarr on campus practicing.. When he came over on his visa to play in the summit game he didn't go back and Duke got their lawyers to make the US agree to let him be until he can get his student visa.. Kinda gave the US a middle finger,, lol.. Hate them but so far was smart.. This is basically the jest of what's going on there..

They seized the opportunity of Sarr being stateside. Smart.

Scheyer is a weasel, but he's a K disciple and knows the ins and outs, so he's not going to let Stephen Miller screw his basketball team.

My guess is that like other international players, any school will get things done but UK will continue to take it till close to the regular season and then put pressure. We will probably not see him for a long while. Hopefully it is just the pessimist in me and all is good, but I always get that anxious feeling when it comes to things like this.

If you want to do the political thing the Pres is mad at the KENTUCKY congressman as well. That is all I will say about that. lol Not a hater or a Trumpter either be. I am more of an independent. Just a comical thought. Do not kill me on this.

I don't think the prez, specifically, cares about foreign college players, but there are certain figures in his administration who are making it their life's work to make situations like Jelavic's difficult.

Whether or not you think that's a net positive is your prerogative, and isn't really a discussion for this board, anyhow.

I’m an independent as well but definitely lean more right than left. I don’t think it’s as political as some think, as we have had trouble getting foreign players cleared under 3 different presidents, 2 of which being democrats. I think it’s the administration at UK that doesn’t know how to navigate these things. Other teams seem to not have an issue getting similar situations cleared. I know the NCAA hates us but there’s more to it than that, in my opinion.

Jones specified that the issue here isn't academic clearance. It's specifically an immigration issue. The staff is concerned that they literally can't even get the kid over here.

Thats entirely different than guys like Enes or Z, who were having trouble getting cleared academically and/or working out professional status.

I usually lean right but as I got older, heck I fell right and now just lay threre.

Jones is a huge Democrat and will oppose anything and everything from the other side. Not saying it’s not an immigration thing but Jones has no credibility when it comes to anything politically. He’s simply a puppet.

If we lose out on him due to immigration issues, I’m fine with it, as the current immigration laws are keeping lots of criminals and drugs off our streets. I love Kentucky basketball as much as anyone, but I love Americans and they’re well being a little bit more.

Jones is a centrist Democrat. This idea of him being a bleeding heart liberal is nonsense if you've ever actually taken the time to listen to him.

With that said, that tidbit was given to him from somebody within the basketball program, so it wasn't just his stupid librul opinion.

I don't care either way. I'm just sharing the information. And, frankly, whether you like this administration or not, it sounds pretty on-brand.

They're going to encounter the same issue, unless he's already stateside.

                              Ah, yes. Normally I'd agree.

Sandy Bell is one of the best compliance directors in college basketball, and has been for years. But this one isn't up to her, her staff, or Mitch, I don't think.

There's a lot of spinning plates re: Jelavic, and everybody involved is handling it with kids gloves.
