Would be a huge blow to us if he isn’t able to play.

Add in the uncertainty with JQ and his recovery and we go from deepest team in the country to a thin and young frontcourt.

We would have to lean on Dioubate and Garrison a lot more and Moreno and Potter would have to be able
to contribute a lot more than we thought.

But no one is going to cry for us when they look at our roster and see a four man rotation at the 4 and 5 that includes two former Burger Boys (BG and MM), a guy with Final Four experience (Mo D) and a 7 footer that can shoot the 3 (RP).

So we have a little insurance, but our depth really takes a hit without Jelavic, especially early on while we could still be waiting for JQ to fully recover.

Yeah, he's really needed.

Last season Pope was hamstrung with post depth. You could see a concerted effort to remedy that this season. There were times last year where we just needed a fresh body to chase down a rebound...and didn't have it.

Need them all eligible and healthy.

Jones is a Democrat, but he's an old school centrist, policy wise. Especially compared to some of these raving liberal crazies today. He actually bemoans some of those people hijacking the party. He criticizes Dems when they deserve it. He loathes Trump, but I don't see why that can't be a bipartisan opinion.

I don't really care about Matt Jones either way, but the idea of him being some sort of green haired liberal warrior (I saw this bandied about a lot on Rivals over the years), is nonsense. Especially if you ever took the time to listen to him.

That has always been frustrating with international players at UK. I won’t act like I know all the inner workings of it, but schools like Zaga and Duke seem to have zero issue of getting guys eligible/on campus. The process lags way too long at UK.

That was the narrative that I remember being pushed by Kentucky fans at the time. I'm not sure if the reality was that petty, but it's the NCAA we are talking about, after all.

I think it was more an effort to stick it to Cal personally than any knocks on Kentucky. At the time, he was still public enemy #1 with the NCAA and the media, and they were salty he got such a high profile job.

I don’t think this has anything to do with the current administration. We have had issues with foreign players under every president. Seems more like a Kentucky issue because Gonzaga/Illinois /Duke never have a problem. Sarr basically dipped on his foreign team in the middle of the night and he’s somehow at Duke practicing as we speak.

I am not the biggest Jone’s fan, but yes he tracks way more with old school Democrats than these new socialist breeds. That’s a fair statement.

We have. Lot of depth and honestly Mo D gives us a lot of flexibility with lineup size this year as well. We still have JQ, Garrison, Noah, Mo D, Potter who can all play Forward and Center.
