I think most will end up staying here. I know I will. And I highly suspect that many others will continue to migrate here in the coming days. There are lots of folks who are active during football and basketball season that don't hang around the forums much during the summer months. Many will try to log-in to Rivals and realize they no longer have a home. Naturally, those people will also eventually find their way here too.

I hate that the influx of new users is going to cause you guys so much extra work. But I guess this is one of those cases where this is a pretty nice problem to have. Hehe.

There is some downtime IIRC, but it wasn't a huge deal on the whole when we had to do it before. And the cost will never come into the equation for you guys; we've got that part of it.

The fear with something like that is that you do it and then something massive happens with the team, and there's no site. That's the kind of stuff that pisses people off. So you have to get the timing right...and that's usually in the dead of summer.

We should have a better feel in 8 or 10 days so we can get a read on the traffic. It's absolutely true that this site has always had these weird bugs we've just kind of lived with, sort of like when the screen door breaks at home and you just patch it with duct tape. That's always been fine for us...but now we have a whole different ballgame, so we may have to spring for a whole new front door.

You all being transparent about it upfront would go a long way toward (most) people understanding and being patient if there's an issue with any upgrade you might make. All it takes is a little communication and most people are reasonable.

We would have to go to Sean for the particular information about how it'll work, as I (and the other mods) have very little knowledge of the technical side of the board as we're just regular dudes who fell into this. But we'll absolutely have to have a thread laying it out when/if it happens, the timeframe of being down, etc.

Yes sir same here. What stings is that off the court I actually like Calipari a whole lot, he did some great things across the state. The one time I was around him during his summer tour prior to his first season, I thought he was very humble down to earth.

I hope you didn't try to register a new account, because I found that doesn't work either. LOL. When you enter your email, select a password and pick a username, the "continue" button for submitting your registration isn't even clickable! I've never seen such a cluster of a forum in my life. What were these guys thinking?!?! They weren't even close to being ready to transition from Rivals to On3 on July 1st.

It's not going to be a crazy amount of extra work.

And, honestly, we want everybody to be able to communicate as easily as possible with as little hassle as possible. Upgrading the tech will be necessary.

We will keep you all abreast of any changes that are made going forward, although I would assume that you wouldn't even notice them if they happen. Only "improvements."

And, as always, this board will remain free forever. Or until ISIS finishes the job.
