I've lurked on Rafters since 2009, and came here for opinions on all things UK Athletics. I don't want to do without it now. I probably won't post, I just wanted to say that. It was easy for me to decide against on3.

VERY occasionally I see a "UK fan" (judging by their avatar) on X still taking up for Cal and/or talking about him like we missed out on something. This flared up after the loss this past season...but I saw it a few scattered times throughout the season.
I feel sorry for those people. It's the weirdest kind of fandom: to just be caught in the past like that. Makes no sense at all.👍 1Comment

The Reds will hold onto each young star until the trade deadline of the final year of their contract. Then they will be Yankees or Dodgers. Such is life for a fans of small market teams. No change in sight without a salary cap. No salary cap in sight when the players union will not have it.
Obviously i benefit as a Dodger fan but still, it's highway robbery.Comment

When was the last time we had 800 responses to a thread in the basketball forum? It honestly may not have ever happened. I guess this is what people who live in Sturgis feel like.😀 2Comment

Oh yeah, of course it does! Lebanon guy here. Buster Brown was my band, but I also enjoyed Fire Dept. I think I first sneaked in there when I was 16, lol? The best of days!Comment

Actually it makes me wonder how football, basketball and hockey ever got a salary cap.Comment

I blamed the Yankees for years. Then MLB itself. Finally in my aged state I realized it’s the players—the union. I understand they have no interest in limiting their earnings potential. Get drafted, build your resume for a few years then hit the big time.
Actually it makes me wonder how football, basketball and hockey ever got a salary cap.
I still enjoy the special teams with low payroll players who dominate the big boys.

I agree with the separate wing for that era of baseball.Comment
