You know Cal was lobbying for a raise at Arkansas., cmon man 😆 🤣

Besides, who says he wasn't offered the Knicks job? Right Cal is loyal to his Tyson chicken buddy.

Regardless,it dont matter. At this point you and I both may as well step outside and take a pi$$ and measure how far it went.

Still, I can't be mad at Calipari for doing us a real solid and letting us off the hook for 9 million a year.

The Calipari era was great until it wasn't.

If you believe that Cal would stay at Arkansas If offered the Knicks job, you're not a serious person.

Calipari could have had the Knicks Lakers and quite a few other NBA jobs the past 20 years, where you been???

Let me explain this Slowly to you so you can comprehend and understand.

DUDE LIKES the security blanket, guaranteed lifetime money at Kentucky and now a fat contract at Arkansas. He doesn't give a crap if he gets fired or not, he still gets paid. Plus he's using Arkansas to prep Brad, can't do that in the NBA.

Again, NBA 20 games in any coach subject to get fired.

Malone Denver, Milwaukee Bucks after championship, list goes on and on..

Really, none of us knows what Cal is thinking, or what he ultimately wants to do. You could be right, maybe he loves being a college coach that preps kids for the NBA draft.

Thing is though, that guy is obsessed with the NBA and he's too full of himself to turn down an opportunity to coach the Knicks, or Lakers.

But, on the other hand, deep down, he's got to know he's not good enough to coach a pro franchise and he knows he doesn't have the energy for it. He also has to know it would be a really bad look if he just up and left Arkansas so soon after they put so much money into getting him.

I'm just not sure what NBA franchise would want a guy that's stuck in the 80's and has accomplished so little with so much talent. If I'm the Knicks, Calipari doesn't even make the top 30 candidates list.

I mean he couldn't get an NBA job now.

              Cal 2025 isn't Cal 2018.

                😆 🤣 😂

True, maybe, I don't know. Cal isn't stupid he's a old school motivator. He knows that kicking screaming stomping hollering technique doesnt fly next level.

Also, I do believe Cal is sincere and adamant helping young people become millionaires, he stands on that, takes pride, gets high off that.

Anyways, you know we disagree 99.999% of the time but it's all good. ( Teasing)
                Happy 4th of July.

The most broken English, starting/stopping gibberish I’ve ever tried to decode from an adult. You put up with it while he wins. You get tired of it really quick when he doesn’t. Now we can just snicker about it 🤣

Trey Lyles pulling a defensive no-show hurt in that one more than either one of the twins, if I remember correctly. You couldn't pay me to go back and watch that horror show, so I'm just going off my crappy memory.

Also: if Cal had just forced the ball into Karl every possession like he did down the stretch against Notre Dame, we win that game and the title.

A bunch of little what ifs.
I've always said the right move would have been Ulis AND the twins together late in the game. Booker got abused on D, and adding an elite passer to the lineup would have helped the stagnant offense.

This or Booker at the 3. Never felt that Lyles fit at the 3 spot. He was a natural college 4. Booker would have been better defensively against 3’s probably, since most 3’s were bigger but slower than the 2’s he was trying to guard. Offensively, it would have helped spacing to have another shooter at the 3.

You and me both, brother 👍

Funny thing is....I was probably one of, IF NOT THE, earliest fans on the "I want John Calipari as Kentucky's next coach" bandwagon. How early? How about 1996 early. Yep, THAT early.

For fans who remember....the media started the "Rick Pitino is going to leave Kentucky for an NBA job" pretty damn early into his tenure as Kentucky's coach. That nonsense seemed to start almost immediately after the Duke/Christian Laettner/Elite 8 game in '92. Every year after that it was "Is THIS the year that Pitino leaves for the NBA?". So....I, like many, was preparing myself for that day.... and after UMASS beat UK early in the '95-'96 season, I said to myself and anyone else who would listen..."If Rick Pitino ever leaves, THAT is the guy I want coaching Kentucky!". Problem was, Calipari left at the end of '96 for the Nets job, and Pitino left after the '97 season. So, Tubby it was.

And I was fine with Tubby, but I always thought if he leaves or they ever let him go, I still want Calipari. Even after Donovan won back-to-back titles and was the hottest thing going, I wanted Calipari. Mitch wanted Billy Clyde, so...we got Gillespie. And after BCG was canned and then ran away from Alan Cutler and there was an opening once again, I was hoping that Cal was FINALLY going to get the gig. And he did!

And I was so happy with that....and it stayed that way....right up until the Wisconsin loss. But even then, it was simply disappointment. Not, "I want him gone" type crap. Nope ..I didn't start feeling like I was ready to move in a different direction until after the Elite 8 loss to Auburn in 2019. But of course, THAT is exactly when Mitch decides to give him a "LIFETIME CONTRACT"! Great. So... I had to buck up and take it...which was fine....but then he started in with taking a knee during the national anthem for BLM, and started losing to the Evansvilles and missing the tournament and then losing to the St. Peters and Oaklands in the first round of the tournament, etc

So, why the hell did I type all of this? Because I want it documented , in writing, that I went from being one of John Calipari's biggest supporters....to wanting him as far away from coaching at Kentucky as humanly possible! Period, end of story.

Booker was a liability. Dekker had been cooking him all night.

And it didn't help that he hasn't really hit a shot for a month.

To be fair, Dekker was playing out of his mind and cooking everybody who was guarding him that night, not just Booker

And Devin was 3-6 that game, he just hadn't attempted a three. The two games prior (round of 16 against West Virginia and Elite 8 versus Notre Dame) he was 5 for 8 (2-5 from 3) and 4 for 6 (2-3 from 3) respectively. At the time I still thought I'd rather see Cal roll with him than the Harrisons, and his pro career has only reinforced my thoughts on that.

I was ecstatic in 2009 when Cal got the job and he did exactly what we all hoped he would do and he sustained it for a while.
But then he decided to put individual goals and success ahead of the program and talked down to the BBN while doing it.
Why though? Why do that? Just put your best team on the floor. Guys like Edwards and BJB are going pro anyway, why drive the program into the ground just to try to get guys going?
This is Kentucky, there should be no need for making promises, or forcing guys on the court that obviously aren't ready.
But here's the other thing he did. He kept telling everyone he was helping these kids reach their dreams. It was bullcrap, the kids he was "helping", were already inked into the NBA draft. Those kids had length, size and athleticism, they were going pro no matter what. In fact, he hurt several players' draft positions by putting them in positions to fail game after game.
The players that needed his help, were glued to the bench. They weren't good enough for his help.
