I still go back and watch that ever so often on YouTube
Yeah I go back and watch old games myself.

Back in 97, Derek Anderson out and Nazr missing free throws was the story but the Minnesota game before that, they beat Mercer up,he was gassed in the Championship game.

I wonder what top 10 got bumped because of it. They put it at #10, you know there was something else queued up until that shot happened.

This has been a weird season with injuries but this team really changed when the spark plug off the bench went down, Kerr kept the engine running, it's been a battle ever since.

If our early season team was still in tact healthy, I think it's another 4 maybe 5 wins at this point.

Anyways, great game Oweh, glad we finally have a physical Sec guard on the team.

UK out shot from field and 3pt. Difference was: 18 made FTs vs. 12. Also, outrebounded.

This is where my (I hate this word) concern remains.

Statistically, we probably should have lost this game. But Oweh just had the will to win. Wasn't going to be denied.

Meh - that’s why one can’t cherry pick stats. It’s everything, including (for this game) made FTs.

Miss a few more and we’re grossing about a game that slipped thru UKs fingers.

a wins a win, no need to fret over the next game because of it.

Come Ncaa tournament time, you waa deer in Headlights or you want a Senior who knocked out the almighty Purdue out of the Ncaa tournament?

As for defense, besides Butler Williams maybe Oweh, they all suck at defense to be honest.
It depends on what we need at that moment. If we need a spot up shooter to knock down a few shots to come from behind, give me Almonor. If the other team's third guard on the floor who is their 3rd option to score is driving it and hurting us because Brea or Noah can't stay in front of him, give me Chandler.

Pope didn't like Almonor in that game for whatever reason. Gave him very little run.

Closed it out with that two-big lineup that he's been using. It was a good coaching move because of how we were able to defend their last play.

Personally off the bench I'm perfectly comfortable with Noah. Because he plays so hard. Perry...sometimes. Chandler tends to hurt you more often than not but Pope clearly liked him last night as a bigger option on defense. He..struggled.

Butler's foul situation was the major driver of all that.

We just had the best individual player on the court. Kentucky has lost games (Texas, Georgia, Alabama twice) because of it. We just didn't have the best individual player those particular nights. Basketball is an individual sport wrapped in team concepts.

This is the privilege of having a guy like Otega Oweh. He's a star.

                        It was nice:
                        1) having a player enforce his will on a game
                        2) having a player “go off” and take over a game
                        3) having a player basically be unstoppable
                        4) having a player hit a circus/improbable winning shot

uk doesn’t always have a lot of the above. It was nice for a change.

Chandler has been bringing more to the table from a defensive perspective, which is what we were all complaining about a few weeks ago. Now that it's getting better, we all have to have something to complain about.
The flip side to this is that this l team is not good defensively with or without Chandler on the court. They're never going to be good defensively. It's just not in their DNA.

At least with Almonor there is a threat of scoring. Chandler doesn't even give that.

I see what you're saying, but the difference between Almonor and Chandler defensively is negligible. I don't think Almonor doesn't play hard -- he's just one of those dudes who floats around the court and looks lackadaisical.
