All with a first year coach and a team put together in the summer. This has been a pretty remarkable season when you consider everything and not cherry pick small sections of time.

I’ll repeat it each time: I’m thrilled with Pope! Tonight, again, I had the belief he would draw up plays to get the win in a tight game, on the road, with Butler fouled out, Robinson hurt….

last 5? seasons…. No such belief.

Thanks, LH. I complain about officiating because that’s what fans do but to question their personal integrity is ludicrous. At the end of the day I don’t think they give a single rip about who wins a game.
Cracks me up, this poster calls anybody who questions a sub a “coach.” Then goes and acts like he knows of some nefarious plot to cover bets.

Copy that. No one likes to see a loss. This season I personally have never felt the team was unprepared or otherwise uncoached for a game. Good teams lose games they shouldn’t, credit the other team/player sometime 🤷‍♂️. That’s why they play the games.

My minor nit on the ‘why is he playing X” is simply: Coach sees something that requires him to play that player.

Almonor didn’t see the floor a lot. Personally, I think he was terrible on defense and pope yanked him. Maybe I’m wrong.

i repeat: gone are the days/coach that starts/plays a player based on NBA potential, to the detriment of the team.

Almonor isn't good at anything other than spot up shooting. He's slow and gives little to no effort on defense and rebounding. Chandler has been bringing more to the table from a defensive perspective, which is what we were all complaining about a few weeks ago. Now that it's getting better, we all have to have something to complain about.

I want to believe Pooe will address the Garrison incident. It clearly didn’t cost UK (after buzzer!) but you’d hate to fight for a win only to have FTs on a technical foul with no time remaining….

Yep. Great game that many of us saw. One game that always stand out to me is UK vs Wake Forest. Game billed around the two mighty power forwards in Mash and Rodney Rodger’s and then within a few minutes of that game, Mash went nuts along with others in general. Game wasn’t even close.

Billy Packer commentated that game if I’m not mistaken, which made it that much better! Mash is my favorite.

People hardly ever see that shot because the one after it is always shown. But, yes, a lot like that shot!

Pope had to adjust because of injuries while getting his freshman real game time minutes, I get it, it's been a win win situation.

As for defense, besides Butler Williams maybe Oweh, they all suck at defense to be honest.

Interesting, no Carr late in the game! It was Williams and Garrison.

Have we seen that before this game? I don’t even remember it when Carr was injured….

In other news: watching SC and the MichSt end game was crazy!

Also, the circus shot by Oklahoma “under” the backboard was trash….. but it still counted.

i was worried that was the sign it wasn’t UKs night, but they never banked in a 3, so I was still hopeful.
