I'm pretty sure they called that same call on us twice. I believe Oweh missed one short and ran in there and they blew the whistle on that one too.

The replay of the Williams one showed it was a bad call...BUT I'm not sure he gets the rebound anyway. The other guy had position on him and stopped going for the ball when the whistle blew.

Really it don't matter. Our season relies first and foremost on Butler if he can get healthy or this season is a wash, no way we are winning anything with a 3rd string freshman 2g playing the point....

It is what it is, future is still very bright though, not going to cry over spoiled milk this year...

The Oweh call was a good call, but they missed the one on Williams.

Score 59-58 Kentucky with roughly 7 to go and Williams misses his free throw and grabs his own board but the ref calls a BS call, all you really need to know about this Texas game.


If we don't beat teams by 10+ or more, we probably not going to win, the REFS this year has done us no favors at all.

Come on. Officials have made mistakes in our games like they do in every game, but I don't remember any game where they cost us a game, and if you review the last 4 minutes of the Texas game, the blame for that loss falls on us.

Which doesn't bode well going forward.

Gonna hope that the purpose of Robinson not shooting is just that they want him to get maximum rest.

I noticed the other night when he reached out to give the other players five, he reached with his left hand.

I did think Pope's tone about Butler was a little more optimistic. (Just a little.)

Come on. Officials have made mistakes in our games like they do in every game, but I don't remember any game where they cost us a game, and if you review the last 4 minutes of the Texas game, the blame for that loss falls on us.

Officials make mistakes on both sides in every single game. They miss calls that should've been called and call things that shouldn't have been. They are human. The only way to make sure that everything is perfect is to review every single possession, which obviously isn't possible with how fast the game is played. When I played, there was one official in particular that always told us before the game that he was apologizing in advance for any mistakes that he made during the game and if we had any questions he would gladly answer them. I had a great relationship with him because I was quiet and polite to him and my coaches. There were a number of times I asked about a foul and why it was or wasn't called and got an honest response from him. Do they make mistakes? Yeah. Do they cost any team the game? No. Is it intentional? No.

The only game this season where I thought the refs had a pretty big hand in deciding the outcome of the game was Georgia.

I actually don't think the officiating has been that bad, other than them relying on replays WAY too much. But that's going on all across the sport and not just in our games.

I wish they would give the coaches a challenge or two each game like in football. It's obviously a combination of every play leading up to the end of the game that can make a single call a big one, but it would be nice to be able to challenge something like the shot clock violation against Wisconsin. Let them challenge anything, go to the monitor, and if they're right they get the call. If not, lose a timeout. Challenge a call that was wrong, a call that should've been made, anything.
