Does the SEC Have a Chance...

...to be the best basketball conference in the history of the sport this season?

I'm not kidding. What's happened through one month has been historic.

    Perhaps.

The argument is that all the teams are probably just going to beat up on each other, and limp into March and inevitably flame out like always.

      The SEC was 13-1 yesterday.

I read that they already have more non-conference top 25 wins than any other league in the history of college basketball.

Because the Twitter/X algorithm is dumb as a brick, it thinks I'm a St. Bonaventure fan sometimes. I wish I was joking.

Last night there were a bunch of their fans, and some other fans of teams in their league, arguing that...the A-10 is the toughest conference in college basketball. Really, this was a thing I had to read right before I went to bed last night.

Alabama did have a guy from North Dakota put 40 on them last night.

The crazzeds of the Alabama fanbase (of which there are, what, probably like one?) were probably going nuts about their performance in that game.

Apparently, the reason they were playing AT North Dakota is because of an agreement made between Nate Oats and Grant Nelson on his recruiting visit.

ND's record is terrible. I didn't care enough to go look at who they played or what 40-pt dude did in each game.

I wonder who is in their conference, I could see ND in the NCAA ala the team that took out UK in the first round (mercifully having an old man moment and the name slips me and I'm too lazy to look it up).

The fact that a person has to say "Which one?" is a testament to how bad things got around here.

I think you're thinking of Oakland. But also maybe St. Peter's?

And North Dakota is in the Summit. I'm going to say the other Dakotas are probably in there with them but not sure. They'll probably be in the ACC next season.

It was Oakland. For some reason I always think the name begins with M and clearly thats wrong. Dude hit 10 3s against UK. I could see ND dude in a similar situation.....he took 18 last night, iirc.

Speaking of ACC - I completely missed that they jumped up to 18 conference teams. Crazy.

18 teams of football mediocrity. Give UK SMU’s schedule and we may be a borderline playoff team. Even WITH Stoops. OK maybe not this year but the last couple before

The "fall off a cliff" of FSU and Clemson having a rocky start really didn't help them. UofL still lacking some pieces. Yep, the ACC has always been the "UK should play football in the ACC" conference.
