I think it’s entirely possible that it does. If it worked the way congress may have envisioned—Paul Miller Ford could choose Toppin and pay to put his image on their billboard. No quarrels there. But when it (predictably) became schools and/or boosters just collecting $ from any willing donors and doling it out to players, then if it’s not done relatively equally then jealousy and hard feelings are inevitable. No player wants to admit he/she is less valuable to the team than another. Although in truth they are not all equal.
Yes I meant to say Not.

I agree with this, but is it different than any other aspect in life? You either pout and whine because someone makes more than you or you work harder to get it....that should be the mentality.

If they can't handle it now and they plan on playing in the NBA they better pull their big boy pants up because you will have someone sharing a locker room with you that has a $300 million dollar contract while you are making a measly couple million.

Fully agree with your first paragraph. Hadn't thought about the second paragraph. Both good points.

Watched McD game. Wagner smooth appears D1 ready to me. He kind of re.inds me of Brandon Knight. Edward's is also very talented. PLAYS within himself appears to like to play defense, will start and might be a star next year. Bradshaw played hard, lithe might struggle with college bigs, time will tell. Sheppard will also be a star at UK if he stays long enough. Question is can Cal muster up the energy to mold them into a team. He has before but not in a while, jury still out on that one. but this looks like the kind of roster he had had success with in the past

Yes, this will be the kind of team that, in the past, Cal gets very motivated to coach. It's gonna be a do-or-die season for him, and I think he knows it. If he can't have success with this group, he'll probably know that his time is done.

What's gonna be tough is how we all define "success". Final Four or bust? Championship or bust? Great regular season or bust?

Reed will be a solid player for Kentucky this coming season. Probably not scoring, but he's gonna do all the little things that make a team great.

Playtime is over, Championship or bust? If you can't get it done with 4 of the top 10 provided Dillingham is on board, it's never getting done. To be safe, best re recruit Toppin Oscar Livingston and stack the roster 1-10 but then again, that may be a problem him figuring out how to use all the talent...

I say FF at least. I'm hoping Reed wasn't just a legacy recruit that Cal thought he had to do. I'm wondering just how much Reed will see the floor this year.

                    Final Four or bust definitely.

Don't think it happens unless he really gets lucky in the portal. I like the freshmen but the team as it stands needs a lot of help.

If Calipari thought this year was bad from the fanbase, let him sit Reed on the bench and see what happens, the mob will run him out of the state. I know it's hit or miss sometimes with in state recruits but with his record and failures the past 3 years, this fanbase will expect to see Kentucky's own 5 star recruit on the court...

If Reed were black would it make a difference as far as this goes?

I watched as well. Love Wagner’s game but was a little disappointed with his ability to finish in traffic. They play a lot more defense in McD’s than in, say, the NBA all star game. But still would liked to have seen some of those shots fall. Maybe was just an off night in that regard.

How much pt Reed gets as a freshman will depend on how they fill out the rest of the roster. But have no fear that he was an obligatory signee. The kid is a player. He’s not afraid of the stage. If he had gone elsewhere he would have gone Lofton on our butts.

Don’t think so at least not to me. Seems like the fans get upset when any high profile Kentucky player doesn’t play much.

Saw that UK nemesis Jordan Wright is entering the portal.
