Wheeler has held this program hostage now for the 2nd year. I was screaming this from the get go last year.... It's really not hard to see. I just don't understand how a D1 basketball coach can't see this. I've coached from little guys through high school and this is very easy to see. On top of that, you have all of the latest technology at your fingertips to replay and review. Guys shoot well because there is no pressure from him. No threat of a block, most often you have 2-4ft to shoot as he can't get around screens.

And speaking of - how does a D1 coach not know how to teach ball screens and how to work around them? This is 7th/8th grade stuff.

Man it's just killing me. I wish Cal would put them in a film session and make them watch fundamental players like Robey Issell and others, make them watch the 92 Kentucky team ,something to get these kids motivated, its bad...

Agreed, I could live with 5'8 Ulis, I can't do it with Wheeler. Not now not tomorrow not ever...

Kentucky’s inability to guard ball screens is especially maddening when you consider these days, everybody runs several ball screens every time down the court.

And of course - I knew Cal wasn't going to call a timeout there at the end and just let Wheeler run wild down the court. I love Cal and I know it may end up being worse with him gone but I'm ready for it. I'm ok if he stepped down tomorrow and let Bruiser/Chin man run the team the rest of the year. I wouldn't care if they lost every game and I don't care about the class next year. I do think it's going to be special but this is completely off the tracks.

Guy we’re seeing now is a total shell.

Both he and Oscar are byproducts of godawful coaching, bad preparation, probably a summer where neither did a thing and got injured, and a Kentucky basketball culture that is degrading so sharply in value it’s obscene.
