Today is the day for Adem Bona. He announces at 10:30 Eastern.

Weird time for that announcement but regardless, most still think he picks UCLA.

Certainly a weird to announce for UCLA if it's 10:30 AM. Or is it 10:30 PM? That would be 7:30 PM in LA.

My thought is that there are a few kids announcing today and Bona was just given that time slot.

It was indeed a.m. He just chose UCLA.

Really big miss for UK. All is not lost but feel like somebody dropped the ball at some point on this one. We'll probably never know the full story.

The next possibility is Cason Wallace, who announces on November 7th. All signs point to Kentucky.

Not concerned about Bona. The transfer portal will have plenty of options for big men.

I lack the time to go back and look this up but it was reported he was really wanting to come here up until around the time Cal started going hard after Derrick Lively.

Jack Pilgrim and others say that and Kyle Tucker and others say another. It's gotten to a point where you just have to choose who to believe when it's entirely possible nobody knows.

I also heard Aaron Torres say it - as well as that it wasn't as simple as Bona not wanting to be second fiddle to Lively. It was also that he and Lively aren't fond of each other and that Bona took it as a slight that Cal went hard after Lively. To me when that many people with sources are saying that stuff, it's generally true. Plus with Cal's track record with West Coast kids it's not surprising.

After many years of being a couch coach, 😊 I believe I would have offered both and said if you can’t play together, the first one that accepts I will go with and rescind my offer to the other one. Probably not the way to go about it but the recruits know you are wanting both players equally.
