Honestly I don't totally disagree with Rowland. There were times I noticed that Askew was sticking the other team's best player.

But man, that offense. It was atrocious. Guy can't play on that end. There were things I really liked about Askew because I like those hardnosed guards, but Askew was really not ready for this at all and Cal kept throwing him out there.
Unless my memory fails me, he couldn't keep hardly anyone in front of him and that kills a defense. But whatever. If he is ever a significant player for UK I'll be surprised.

Cal's luck with point guards has clouded our judgement a bit to where if they aren't studs as freshmen then they're pretty hopeless.

Askew can be good but he is a 3 year guy at minimum. He never should've been in the position he was in this year.

I agree that Askew's defense was way way better than his offense. So I ask this question, why was he on the court during the last few seconds of yesterdays game?

I've heard that despite Keion's dad trying to shut down rumors of a transfer, it's still a real possibility.

Brooks had a weird demeanor this year. I didn't really pick up on it his freshman season, but I thought he looked out of it a lot.

It's hard to tell by just looking at body language, so I may be off. But he gave off a strange vibe. I felt the same about Sarr.

Cal mentioned yesterday something about having guys on this particular team who were different than his other players in that they didn't really hate losing. You could tell that. Just not a lot of meanness or grit on this team, and that's so essential in this sport. So many of these guys looked like they were just out there doing stuff, and whatever happened happened.

I think I noticed what you're talking about, but I also thought that in his case, it stemmed from being put out with the guys who were guilty of this very behavior. I'm hoping Cal might change his mind by culling the more problematic elements.

Until the Calipari Era when we started getting an abundance of generational talent level of recruits, we had guys who were here 3-4 years. Among those players the ones who often were the best had obviously become endeared to the program.

I'm not saying that they had mistake free careers, that there was no period of growth or change, but when we lost you could tell that they sincerely hated it and those who went to senior day often had tears streaming during the activity.

It's called buying in. We have to get back to where recruits come here with an open mind, a hunger to grow and prosper, and an understanding of how big this program can be. Don't be embarrassed by a past that you might not even really understand.

Yes...I am thinking of Keion when I mention that last part.

Jeff Borzello reports that Cam’Ron Fletcher has entered the transfer portal which isn’t a shock.

I really hope this is true.

Calipari also says that a couple of players had to go home immediately after season ended due to mental health concerns.

Hope everything is okay there. We tend to forget sometimes that many of these players are indeed kids.

Cal unsurprisingly says some players will leave, some will return. (Duh.)

Mentions Sarr as a player who had a one-year plan. Definitely sounds like he's gone.

                                Mentions Mintz exploring his options.
