Who Goes, Who Stays: 2021 Edition

It's a tradition unlike any other at Kentucky, so we might well start the speculatin'.

Keion Brooks' dad is already trying to shoot down rumors of a Brooks transfer.

Gone: Boston, Clarke, Sarr, Jackson, Fletcher, Mintz

Returning: Askew, Ware, Brooks, Allen, Toppin

In other words, Cal better be hitting up the transfer wire like a madman.

Still SOME hope on Mintz, and don’t forget the WVU transfer.

I dont know anything about Mintz, but none of his public comments in the past couple weeks indicate a guy who is planning on returning.

Just my take on it, of course.

I think Boston and Clarke may return. Have nothing to go on except for the fact that neither one is a good basketball player and I want to think common sense will win out.

There’s a better chance of me waking up in bed with Kate Upton tomorrow.

Unfortunately there hasn't been much in the way of that lately. There's been a ton of turnover and there probably will continue to be a ton of turnover.

              Hope I'm wrong.

I just think Boston is a borderline mediocre player. I've never seen a guy like that make a decision to try and play professional basketball here. I'm sure it's happened elsewhere but not here, under Cal.

Clarke has no chance and will have to transfer unless he wants to make a run at a free agent contract.

It just seems so astronomically dumb to me. I mean with Skal, sure, he's seven feet and he could really shoot. Hami was an ungodly athlete. Teague got swept up in all the other guys. Archie Goodwin had a solid second half.

These guys are just on another level of average.

I’m with you. At the same time, if someone is willing to pay me a lot of money to do something I’m not that good at, I’d need a shortage of common sense to pass up the deal.

So you think Clarke returns to Kentucky, or just to college?

Question: How many scholarship spots...13? Or is it 15? Some possibly will get squeezed out because of the incoming class (and WVU transfer) too so its going to be interesting to see who comes back. I know who SHOULD! Gonna be interesting to see how Cal builds 21/22 team because players in the transfer portal will be immediately eligible and we need shooting! Cal knows he can't put the same blend of players he had next season without BBN going ballistic! Gotta have a balance-athleticism, shooting, scoring, defense/shot blocker. Toughness!

There is less than zero percent chance of this happening, Will. Dont do this to yourself. At Kentucky, logic and common sense do not play into these decisions anymore.

College. He'd be a good candidate for a transfer probably. Fresh start, and he'll obviously have a ton of suitors.

Clarke always looked to me like he was into it on the bench. Seemed to be rooting the others on, etc. He might not be miserable at Kentucky, he might just feel like his skills would be better used elsewhere.

Clarke is an ungodly athlete and on paper is bigger than Diallo. He'll try to jump. As will Boston.

I don't care if they return or not. I'm just saying I could see it.

I think Boston could be a solid college player but he was so ridiculously far from that I think we could do better on the transfer market. There are going to be some elite transfers available really soon.

It is however a ridiculous indictment of the Calipari system we're even talking about this.
