The US government has said no prayer in schools.
Now that kids are home, politicians are asking each week for days of prayer.
As a speaker to FCA Huddles, I always took my Bible and read from it and had prayer with students every time. But you're right, after that decision by our government, any prayer has always been discouraged even though all students were not forced to join in.

So it's happening. Been a lot of call ins at work. Heard a report of an employee who will not be there for 2 weeks because he lives with his GF and her Mother and the Mom has decided to quarantine herself. No positive test just wants to quarantine herself. And this bozo at work decides he will do the same. Lazy people always find a way out of work.

Does she have a reason to quarantine herself? Like, was she around anyone that might have tested positive? I'm unclear.

Not to my knowledge Dwight. Knowing those two employees, nothing is really clear. You know the kind of people who always have an excuse for everything? Yep.

How has everyone's life been altered on here? My business supplies restaurants, grocery stores, hospitals, nursing homes, etc with food. So, I'm still working every day and my sales are currently up about 60% from average. I'm worried about how a few of my local restaurants will recover, if they even do. Nursing homes require a brief questionnaire and they take my temperature before I go inside. Other than that, my life has stayed pretty normal other than the gym being shut down. My wife is working from home and I'm not sure if her or the dogs are enjoying it more. She wakes up at 6:55 to start her day at 7:00.

As an optometrist I'm only allowed to see patients for medically essential care. Basically eye injuries/infections/acute loss of vision right now. That's only 5-10% of my normal patient load. Cannot remain fully staffed like this. Staff will have to be applying for unemployment benefits pretty soon due to reduced hours.

I'm working from home full time right now but did receive a temporary pay cut this morning. We can swing the pay cut for a while but I am worried about our company remaining solvent.

Still, there are no good options here because even though the virus has a low death rate, roughly 1/5 require hospitalization and our healthcare network can't sustain that type of widespread use.

Praying for Jackie Towns, and her family. Matt Colvin I have a question, Does Mrs Towns being in an induced coma mean they are protecting her or is it because she's critical or both?

First, to answer teamchemistry15's question, my life changes have been in the form of minor inconveniences such as not being to eat out and missing out on UK's spring fb practices. Also, I just read, on Twitter, that confirmed cases , in Ky., are on the rise and Gov. Beshear is going to order more closings. A revised listing is supposed to be out later today.

Mrs. Towns is certainly in need of prayers. Coma is sometimes induced when there is real risk of brain injury--from trauma/infection/heart attack. It is done to slow the metabolism of the brain to help or prevent swelling of the brain. When this is the best option things are pretty serious.🙏

Lighthouse, they would induce coma to help protect her. Hard telling why, she might have experienced seizures for example or they could simply be trying to reduce her metabolic demands to help her body address other areas of need. Regardless, it would indicate that she is exceedingly critically ill.

One thing to keep in mind is that as we begin to have better/easier/more/more efficient ways of testing folks that the number of cases will increase by default. In turn, that should make the casualty rate decrease. There's no telling how many thousands of cases there have been that have gone undiagnosed.
