Exactly. I'd imagine they would get sued to the tune of hundreds of millions if those games go on and they tried to remove them from the CBS family of networks.

Maybe CBS would work something out where they charge a fee for watching on their streaming service or something, but not sure why they wouldn't be on the regular channels if they happen, even if there are no fans watching live.

The virus is very serious as there is no vaccine to prevent spread, and unfortunately the people that are sick, older, and usually poorer are hammered
we've had millions of cases of flu even with vaccines. Over 20000 deaths. This could get worse. But let's be real....Russia and the Sauds playing chicken with crude oil prices took the cake this morning.

Japanese baseball today plays to empty stadiums. With the tv revenue, the show will likely go on in a really eerie fashion.

It's basically like contracting the regular old flu, right?

You can and should take all the usual precautions but ultimately the best defense is a strong immune system.

Yes, but even the common cold is not fun for strong immune systems. But those with weak ones can still avoid the cold, corona, flu, whatever. The wife has a very weak immune system. She rarely gets sick because she doesn't chew her nails, uses good hygeine, etc. People should be doing these things on the regular anyway. I can't tell you how many people I call out on a daily basis at work for not washing their hands after going to the restroom. Really people? I never touch that door handle btw and always have a small bottle of sanitizer with me. Always have.

You know you can catch a virus despite all the hand washing and hygiene in the world right?

Yes but aren't talking about Ebola here. But hygiene goes a long way.

Was reading an article last night, and I had no idea about any of this. What folks are worried about isn't as much the disease as what's happening in some other countries where the spike in infections is causing hospitals to become overloaded and forcing them to make difficult choices. Apparently in this country most hospitals only have so many respirators - health officials are worried that we could have a shortage on our hands. So the 'public distancing' measures are meant as a way prevent this scenario.

Last evening dining out with friends, one of their uncles, who's graduated with a master's degree and who worked in Shenzhen Hospital (Guangdong Province, China) sent him the following notes on Coronavirus for guidance:
                            1. If you have a runny nose and sputum, you have a common cold
                            2. Coronavirus pneumonia is a dry cough with no runny nose.
                            3. This new virus is not heat-resistant and will be killed by a temperature of just 26/27 degrees. It hates the Sun.
                            4. If someone sneezes with it, it takes about 10 feet before it drops to the ground and is no longer airborne.
                            5. If it drops on a metal surface it will live for at least 12 hours - so if you come into contact with any metal surface - wash your hands as soon as you can with a bacterial soap.
                            6. On fabric it can survive for 6-12 hours. normal laundry detergent will kill it.
                            7. Drinking warm water is effective for all viruses. Try not to drink liquids with ice.
                            8. Wash your hands frequently as the virus can only live on your hands for 5-10 minutes, but - a lot can happen during that time - you can rub your eyes, pick your nose unwittingly and so on.
                            9. You should also gargle as a prevention. A simple solution of salt in warm water will suffice.
                            10. Can't emphasise enough - drink plenty of water!
                            THE SYMPTOMS
                            1. It will first infect the throat, so you'll have a sore throat lasting 3/4 days
                            2. The virus then blends into a nasal fluid that enters the trachea and then the lungs, causing pneumonia. This takes about 5/6 days further.
                            3. With the pneumonia comes high fever and difficulty in breathing.
                            4. The nasal congestion is not like the normal kind. You feel like you're drowning. It's imperative you then seek immediate attention.

Heard a guy on the radio this morning say that one of the reasons these universities are cancelling classes is because they're afraid of lawsuits. I would imagine if conferences or the NCAA begins cancelling that might be part of their logic as well.
