    Blackshear

He's withdrawing from the draft. Supposedly us, Florida, and Texas A&M are the front runners.

    Go get him, Cal.

Land this kid and we will have one of Cals very best teams, at least on paper, and certainly the deepest since 38-1.

^ I think you would have to have returned Herro to say that and even be close, honestly. Heck...we couldn't even return Jemarl Baker. Quickley has a lot of improving to do as well.

Maybe a crowded front court will keep him away?

Herro would have been fantastic as a sophomore but we have enough at guard. Maxey is going to better than Herro, in my opinion. Has a chance to be one of those transcendent guards and a guy you're not going to be able to take out of the game.

The frontcourt is still a major question mark without one more player. If Richards has to start and play 35 minutes a game at center I don't think Kentucky is any better than it was in the Murray/Ulis year.

If Blackshear comes on I think Kentucky might be the favorite to win it all.

Two things about this whole deal: one, Kerry Blackshear is a fantastic low-post player who plays exactly like Cal wants his bigs to play.

But second, and maybe more importantly, is this: the sport of college basketball is going to be straight GARBAGE next season. It'll be anybody's game.

If Florida gets him, they may be a favorite in the SEC. They're going to be pretty tough next year as well.

I hope Cal goes after him hard.

We replaced Jemarl Baker with Johnny Juzang, so I'm thinking we probably got the best end of that trade. Quickley was our second best guard at the end of last season.

And this team is deep at the guard position; Herro obviously would have been a huge luxury, but I'm thinking we'll be alright.

              Land Blackshear.

This is the truth, and what a lot of people aren't considering.

If Jordan Nwora coming back makes Louisville a top 3 team, then college basketball sucks.

Blackshear will visit Florida this weekend.

Internet scuttle says that Florida might be the program to beat. However, there's been such little info from Blackshear that it's impossible to really get a read on anything.

If he gives more visits and UK gets the final one then that's a good sign. But he might just call it this weekend and commit. It's impossible to say.

Didn't RT visit UK and sign immediately? Hope that isn't the scenario with UF.

Just curious, I noticed that a bunch of SEC schools are interested in Blackshear but no ACC ones. Is he barred from xfering to an ACC school? Didn't a player from Pitt xfer to UNC last year?

If he's a grad transfer I don't think he can be blocked from going anywhere. Seems like that happened with a kid that left Bama for UT. Saban tried to fix it and got over ruled.

Jeff Goodman tweeted last night that Arkansas is in the mix for Blackshear.

He will visit Florida as noted above, but Goodman says UK and Texas A&M are in the mix with Gonzaga and Tennessee interested.

Evan Daniels reports that Blackshear is taking a visit to Arkansas today.

Unclear if he is already finished with the visit to Florida or if that's happening this weekend. I hope that he's rolling through visits and UK somehow gets the last one.

I was told he has not done the official to Florida yet. I think Arkansas is this weekend and Florida is next week.
