PJ Washington Injured (UPDATE: Cast Off, PJ Walking, Day to Day Per Cal)

Well, he went through the part of the practice the media was allowed to see. The NCAA changed the open practice rule so media were removed for the second part. Kyle Tucker reported that he saw PJ standing off to the side as he was walking out. But he definitely ran with the team at the beginning because there's video of that. Looked fine.

Unlike others I can't imagine a scenario where he doesn't play. Would be truly bizarre given all they've done. What it would take would be PJ just laboring in warm-ups to the point where it's obvious that his presence out there would hurt us.

Every action they've taken to this point has been about trying to get him to play basketball this weekend and hopefully next.

I agree. I think he plays and makes a difference. During the warm up video, he showed no limp or sign of pain. Now did it swell afterward? We have no way of knowing.

If you heard them say he was fine you weren't listening to what they were saying.

Regarding the video, it could be that they thought it was a go and then he got up on it and it just wasn't as strong as they wanted it to be.

But having said this we don't really know anything yet. I'd still be surprised if he doesn't play. Davis's tweet about "reading and hearing" suggests he's probably talking to reporters who were in the arena yesterday. I would be much more interested in how the foot responds today. To me that will tell the tale.

Nope. I’m not going to criticize PJ.

but, I will be pissed at Cal and UK. IMO, they handled this thing wrong from the beginning.

Cal has had a horrible track record when it come to injury updates. Travis was 7-10 days.

This week Cal tweets out “uh oh” to PJ’s video and UK says, “no statement needed, see PJ’s video.”

you dont do that crap unless you know he’s going to play.

Luckily, Cal and UK don't care what you think.

In the end, I think PJ will be playing (at least some) tonight and it's a moot point. How effective he'll be is another story, however.

Cats are a different team with him, but we've lost games with him as well.

I don't think so. Because of the NCAA mess he left at UT, it took awhile for the smoke to clear.
