I hope you did that on purpose. Pure genius turn of a phrase and fitting to a "tee". If not, congrats on falling into geniusness.

Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

Sadly I typed that on a laptop keyboard in a hurry but I agree it does fit Cal's to a tee.

If you not NBA material after 1-2 years, your not playing much. Green was moved from his natural PG position.

Juniors under Calipari is like seeing Bigfoot.

I guess Cal is right in that UK is not for everyone.

On the other hand, Derek Willis and Dominique Hawkins had excellent senior years under Cal.

Funny how some players do just fine.

This is true. But they were not 5 star recruits and were Ky kids. Different makeup. Different expectations. Both were major contributors their Senior year.

He was moved but that was probably a good move.

He might be able to play point guard at a high major. Would have to get a lot stronger and become one of these guys who's just a rock physically.

But he never looked to me like a point guard. It could be that he just lost confidence after Shai took the job from him last year, but when he tried to play the position this season he really struggled.

We really need to cultivate a situation at Kentucky where being just a good college player is okay. You still have to have pros but guys who are good-but-not-great are still of value, because those guys do become great sometimes when they're juniors and seniors. But they come in with these NBA dreams and then when they're shattered they look to bail out. That's untenable unless you're recruiting Anthony Davises every year.

Maybe. Derek Willis was originally committed to Purdue though and opted to come to Kentucky. Dominique had a hellaciously good week in the Sweet 16 and played himself into a scholarship. But he could have been a major player at a smaller school or a mid major.

I do agree that expectations management - either on Cal's part or on the part of these players families - isn't being done well.

I agree, kids need to know that not everyone is going to be a pro player, nothing wrong with getting a 4 year degree and developing into a good college player over a 3 to 4 year mark.

Usually we just overrun opponents with our immense talent and that hides Cal’s coaching deficiencies. The last two seasons have put a spotlight on Cal. That light is getting really hot if you ask me. He now throws his players under the bus and that is something he NEVER did until last weeks post game. You can’t come out and say we haven’t worked on end game situations. Makes you look like an idiot. Listen, I like Cal. Always have. This season has forced me to take my Big Blue Goggles off. It is what it is. We are a bad team. Plain and simple. A good coach takes the talent he has and makes them better. It’s not happening.
