Loved that they were having none of it when Bemax tried to intimidate our guys last night. Agreed that there may well be a fight in a lot of our games next year and I’m all for it if teams try to push us around.

I was out last night and had to DVR the game. I have not watched the last ten minutes but goodness this team looks good for August. Love the toughness. Didn't back down one bit from a bunch a big and mean players from Serbia. Usually toughness takes a long time to come for a young team but it appears this team has it from the start. Big test will be going into a hostile arena. But this team looks like they will meet that challenge. This should be a great year. Lets enjoy it!

Game today is at 4 PM.

Offensively, he plays under the rim, but words can't express how huge it was that Cal was able to nab Reid Travis. That guy is going to win a few games for us this year that we would drop otherwise.

Yes. Pushes EVERYBODY out of the paint. Makes it so hard for teams just to get into their stuff.

Reminds me of Dajuan Blair, who played for Pitt and had a couple of good seasons with the Spurs. If Travis can start getting those two-footers to go down he could be a devastating player in there.

Was trying to think of anybody Kentucky had had that played similar to him. The only guy I can think of off the top of my head is Jason Parker. Only difference: Reid Travis is 23 years old.

I was maybe a little too high on Knox this time last year as he ended up being inconsistent in his effort. But right now I feel like if anyone wanted last year to see Kevin Knox with Jarred Vanderbilt's motor...that may be Keldon Johnson. But smiles more and enjoys himself more than either.

I think Kevin Knox always enjoyed himself, but he was just one of those guys that never showed much emotion, one way or the other. Very stoic.

Welp. Smoked another team today, 93-60.

Lots of fine tuning to come the next couple months....

Another good showing today. Got off to a slow start but caught fire the last five minutes of the first half and blew away Toronto.

PJ Washington and Travis both hit a couple of three's. If they can do that I'm not sure anyone can guard UK.

One thing we found out is that this team is probably a better shooting team than we expected. If they shoot the 3 ball consistently well and the front line is as good as it showed this week this will be a devastating team to watch all season.

The hype machine will be in full force now. Cal will have a job to keep them grounded. That may be his biggest challenge all season. This team shouldn't lose many games. With some luck not over 3 or 4 and depending on how good the SEC really is too. No matter, it should be a fun season and a deep run in the NCAA's.

I really like this team and the potential, but the team they beat today had no intention of winning. It seemed to me they just went into the game to have some fun. I hope winning games that easy doesn't effect them when the going gets tougher.

Very fun watching this team this week.

One thing we didn't get was a feel for who may start. Not that that matters, but it's odd to watch a team play four games and not get a really hard feel for who the best five or six players are.

Of course that's a good "problem" to have, but you do look out there and see two or three guys that Calipari is really not going to be able to remove too much. Johnson and Washington are the obvious two, and you have to love the way Herro plays.

But I tell you what: Quade Green put together a pretty hellacious week. Both he and Richards look substantially improved.

Kentucky should be one of the top two or three teams in America, and that's all you can ask as a fan. Let's roll 'em out.

Hagans helps set a tone, too. What I hope is that Calipari is able to keep these guys pressing. He mentioned in his press conference that the 27-28 minutes per game mark is what each person should hope to earn, rather than 30+, as they can basically play like they're unchained for that amount of minutes.

You have to hope that sinks in as hint that he wants these guys going full throttle the whole time. I don't want platooning. I do want pretty frequent rotating of all players not named Johnson and Herro, except wherein a guy is simply having an off game. My hope is Herro could settle in as backup SF with Johnson, and then those two guys just basically assault the field of opponents all year.

And Keldon Johnson seems to have a Derek Anderson level of attitude. Huge compliment if that continues to be the case.

I think Johnson is going to play 35 minutes a game or so. Herro should rotate with Quade and also play those very few minutes Johnson is out.

Johnson looks like he could be an All-American to me. Really hard to rotate those guys with anybody because they're indispensable. Think he plays virtually all the time.

Still like Herro off the bench because I think he can be a Booker type: come in and assault the other team with energy and offense. Of course there are games where he's going to play 30 minutes, but I think on most nights he'll be used as a Vinnie Johnson kind of microwave player.

But as a caveat: I also think Johnson is going to be in some foul trouble this year because of the way he plays. Especially at the beginning until he learns he can't just shove and push and grab.

So Herro is going to get a bunch of minutes by default early on.

It was very obvious tha officiating crew were instructed to allow a lot of contact and the players knew it, and were prepared. The Cats will have to adjust and clean that up when the season starts or we will have several in foul trouble.
