Reid Travis visit to Kentucky goes into Day 2 tomorrow

If all goes well, I don’t think he visits Villanova and the Cats get their man

Let's hope Cal can close this deal on the spot. The fact we can add a veteran with his talent and experience along with a front court need makes this team complete in my opinion and actually takes pressure off the youngsters...

The squad is assembled before the Bahamas.

Friends, it is going to be a very fun year.

Good news and completes our team. I sure wish I could go to the Bahamas!! The best opportunity to get up close to the players.

The stars have aligned. Going to the Bahamas again. The road to the Final Four goes through Louisville, again.

Has God given UK basketball a second chance at 40-0?? The schedule is brutal, but this team will surely be tested, but it has all the pieces to hang #9.

Not sure they have the roster that 2015 did, and the schedule is probably a notch up. But they should be a 32-35 win team, and if you're there you'll have a shot to cut down nets in early April.

One thing that's forgotten about 2015 is how lucky they were to even be undefeated at the end. There is no way Ole Miss should have lost that game. Total fluke aided by missed free throws. Then they went out the very next game and could have lost that one as well.

So it takes a lot of good fortune even if your roster is stacked. I'm not sure this roster is stacked like that...but it might be close. A lot depends on how good Ashton Hagans really is. We know Travis is going to bring it unless he gets injured. Hagans is more of an unknown.

Cal's great teams always have that electric point guard. Also, as discussed above, a dynamic shooter needs to be emerge.

But this team could possibly be the favorite, and that's all you can ask.

I feel more excited about this year than I did about last year. This new team has a good feel to it to me.

Last year's team had been gutted by NBA entries from the previous season. They weren't able to patch the holes because the players weren't quite as good.

This year has almost as many holes to fill, but we got upgrades in a couple of places and we returned some key pieces.

You would love to have had a guy like Wenyen Gabriel to come in and give them some offense out on the perimter. A vet like that would've been good even with Reid Travis on board. But last year we talked all season about how Cal's misses on the recruiting trail had created this uneven roster.

This year he was able to overcome his one big miss, Zion Williamson, with a player who will probably be a better (college) player when it all shakes out.
