I agree about Padgett. He has somewhat proven kids will play for him and if he can recruit they could do worse. He's just raw in the game management department.

I think the Virginia .09 debacle destroyed any chance Padgett ever had of getting the job.

UofL was up with .9 seconds left, yet still managed to give the game away.

Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

You didn't see this? I would've sworn we discussed it at length on this board.

Craziest finish of the season and one of the craziest I've ever seen.

But I'm not sure that was as much on Padgett as it was on just a collapse by the players. I think the issues fans had with Padgett began in earnest after the UK game.

I have never figured out what Padgett could have done that would have helped. UVA got a huge break with a lane violation that gave the ball to UL without the clock moving. The UL player made a total brain fart by moving on the baseline. The official even told him he couldn't move but still did. The coach has to take blame in the end but I'm not sure what he could have done to prevent it all?

Would be hilarious if UL won the NIT and then canned Padgett. The media would crucify them.

People think UL will be down for years and I’m not sure why. Someone like Mack could come in, grab 2-3 decent recruits, which he is capable of doing, a JUCO or 2 and a transfer along with his decent returners and UL competing in 2 years or so.

Nothing is going to happen in the Adidas stuff because there are too many issues for the NCAA to handle. And if it does hurt them it will likely take years.

If they go after some overrated guy like Smart I will just LMAO.

Lot of brain farts on the part of the players. Deng moving on the baseline. Perry fouling the shooter on the 3 pt attempt prior to that. That's a mental mistake that you shouldn't make at the college level - even high school level, not with a couple of seconds left on the clock.

They really do. This town is cursed. I wouldn't be surprised if we somehow lose the MLS race and the pro soccer franchise gets awarded to Detroit or Sacramento, despite seemingly being Cincy's to lose.

Not in the ACC. You don't skim off a JUCO and a couple of under-the-radar guys and compete in that league.

Next year should be okay as I think they'll return a decent part of this team. Then it could get ugly. You also have the other sanctions looming out there beyond this.

This isn't going to be an easy re-build. I think Louisville fans are assuming that the rules are going to be the same with the next AD as they were with Jurich. Louisville was just in to the legislature a month ago begging for money to get their television studio up and running. So much has changed in a relatively short time.

This is why I say I'm stunned that Mack is even under consideration (if he is). I assumed they were going to aim a lot lower, or else hold on to Padgett to weather through this.

All this said, Louisville is a top ten job if everything is neutral.

All my UL buddies are resigned to the fact that they will be years away from relevance.

Tim Sullivan of the CJ seems pretty confident Louisville will at least be in the mix for Mack.

Sullivan is goofy as hell but seems pretty tied in at UofL, so I'm inclined to think he likely knows of what he speaks.

The thing about Louisville though is that with Pitino there they were looking at a top 5 team. With all the upheaval I don't know what was possible, but the talent was there for them to be an elite team this year, so in that sense Padgett may have underachieved.
