God already knew who was going to win the 2018 Championship before the beginning of time, since He is all knowing. So, why would he care?

Why do we play the tournament?

    Why are we here?

    Existentialism makes my brain hurt.

Predestination is a relic of the 16th century.

As over-romanticized as it is, New York City deserves its reputation (good and bad). No place like it in America, probably the planet.

        Completely unique.

Philly has unique elements, too, but I've just always found the place to be a lower-rent NYC knockoff.

Go to NYC, Downes, first chance you get.

I've never been to New York - I think I would enjoy it for about a day and a half before I got tired of all the people. I love Chicago, though. I would tolerate the winters to live there.

Manhattan is certainly crowded, especially in Midtown or Downtown, but there's plenty of places where you're not going to be overexposed to the masses.

Anywhere in the outer boroughs, or even locales in Manhattan have chill spots (the Village). There's also an 850 acre patch of grass smack dab in the middle of the island where you can find serene, picturesque quiet time.

In my 20's, I would've loved urban living. I still appreciate urban areas. In my 30's, I'm a stereotypical basic suburban white guy. Especially having a kid, I can't imagine urban living. Just seems like a nightmare.

In my case, don't mistake hate for a unlike. This goes back to the 2012 NC game when my son and I sat behind several KU fans, and with their nastiness of our cheering for UK, cause these feeling I have.

I think 'sports hate' and 'hate' are two different things. I loathe Duke and U of L - but I don't wish any ill will on them as people. I just want them to lose every game.

That isn't ill will on them as people?

He isn't wishing for their financial ruin or health decline. Just that they don't win a game.

There are other things in life that, while not as important as health and money, some people attach a great deal of importance to. Suppose someone said UK will never win another bb game. There would be people out here jumping off bridges.

Oh, I hear you. I'm the most suburban dude on earth.

As I've aged, I've noticed that ubran, crowded settings make me super anxious. I love NYC, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Then they have much bigger problems than their favorite basketball team won't win a game. You just can't put that much importance on something you cannot control.

No. My coworker gave me some grief about UK losing on Friday morning. In turn, I told him I hoped the Yankees sucked for the rest of eternity.

I don't wish him any ill will - in fact, I like him. That's how sports operate. I don't want any U of L fans to get cancer or anything, and I hope the U of L players have happy and fulfilling lives. I just don't want them to win sports games.
