Heck. What a game and tourney so far. Some really great games. Very proud of the team. They came out flat in the 2nd half and had to regroup. SKJ played good. Hope we can continue to play tough and keep winning. 3 pt streak is gone. People are mad because now we will not have anything to worry about when we are winning but have not hit a 3. Now we can start it again. Heck I would be in my mid 80s of we start another 30 year streak. GREAT GAME UK. Proud of you young pups.

Sorry, I'm just not that big on the importance of the three point streak.....we lost plenty games during that I would have traded.....Wisconsin, North Carolina, Duke. I would have traded the streak seven days a week for a win in those games.
I've seen a lotta teams shoot themselves out of games.....John Wall...when a push inside could have won it.Comment

You can question all you want and yes, his numbers were good. But, he had a streak there where he was killing the offense. Sorry - I love how he changes speeds and can get to the basket. I hate how he kills the flow of the team, dribbles around the top of the key for 20 seconds while everyone else gets bored and stands around... YES - garbage offense.
If this team would attack and keep playing, they would beat this team by 30 or more but they don't. It turns into Cal's one man show and that crappy slow down offense that he does every year. PLUS - he better play JV in the next game regardless if he's 70% or it could get ugly.
some kid that was probably a 2-star from Iceland made them look silly in the 2nd half. Love the win, hope they play better next game, and totally understand that without Shai, they would not be where they are at. BUT - no excuses for that at this point. Davidson is a good team and a well coached team but they are NO WHERE near the caliber of players that UK has or should have. NOT EVEN CLOSE. But hey - game is over - they survived and get to play another game.Comment

Sugar coat it, lie to yourself, brush it off no big deal call it what you want but absolutely no excuse not to hit a three in a game in the year 2018, the game has changed. Very few big men post in college or the next level and the 3 point shot is why teams like Davidson plays with giants like Kentucky. Im glad we won but if you cant make a 3 point shot against Davidson, do you really think this team has a chance against Buffalo lol lol lol lol

Not hitting a three today has nothing to do with what will happen against Buffalo. It clearly wasn't in the game plan. We were so much bigger and more athletic than them across the board it didn't make sense to not live in the paint. It's easier to live and die in the paint than by the three. We hit a three in 1047 straight games. We won, what, 75% of those games? It's possible to hit a few threes and lose. It's possible to not make one and win. Look at the Wall team vs WVU. They kept shooting threes, missing them, and we lost. It could have very easily been the same situation today if we shot 16-18 threes.Comment

If UK had a three point shooting contest with Davidson they would have an L today. UK's big advantage was going inside and for the most part did very well.Also can't get into a three contest with Buffalo either. But I do think they will need to make a few threes to win. And I'm sure they will.
FWIW UNLV now has the longest streak at 1,040. They may break UK's record early next season. I don't think they are playing in any post season tournaments this year.Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

I thought the Cats played that game about as well as you could expect. Shai had one of his few off games of the year, but our defense was fairly solid for the most part. We got lost on maybe five or six possessions all night. A pretty good ratio.
Thought our D in the first half was just a rock. The switching gave Davidson major problems. They stayed in the game based on the play of that one guy. But overall I was pretty impressed. That isn't an easy team to play on such a short turnaround, and even UK's very good teams under Cal haven't been lights out in opening-round games. You would expect an uptick Saturday.
