Can't have that happen. Didn't recruit well enough.

You may have four go if you're counting Tai Wynyard or somebody transferring. But four of these guys aren't going to the NBA unless they have flunked out or something. That didn't happen on any of the teams that struggled during the regular season for Cal and I'm not sure why it would with this team.

As a KY fan I expect better effort that what we got today. I don't care if you are a Freshman or a 4 year player I expect effort. I don't think that is asking too much because after all you are playing for KY in big time college basketball. At KY we all have high expectations and we should have high expectations after we are the big boys of college basketball. The excuse that they are young no longer holds water for me when you are 23 games into the season. Plus some of these guys act as if they have never played organized basketball before. The lack of effort is what drives me crazy. Lots of standing around today watching. Some of those guys should have been made to buy a ticket.

I am not giving up on this team. They still could put it all together and make a nice run but time is running out. WVU game showed us why this team could make the final four. The team today showed us that team could go out in the first round. None of these guys are NBA material right now but a couple think they are.

      Just my two bits worth.

Knox and SGA are projected 1st round. They will go.1st rounders at UK always go.
Diallo is not coming back even if he goes the Briscoe route.
          Richards is the wildcard, imo.
Gabriel's family needs the $$$, so who knows.

4 would not shock me. This is Ky.
And you are right. We would be hurting next year. But I guarantee you we would shoot better.

Actually "NO!" I would very much like for one, possibly two, to leave for the pros.

I was right in the midst of some serious introspection about how bad our team is....when I saw that Duke lost to St Johns, which was 0-11 in conference play. Someone explain that shocker to me. GO ST JOHN'S!

The only way those two leave is if they transfer. Neither are even close to the NBA radar. Nick Richards can't put three minutes of college ball together.

I absolutely agree and I definitely think Richards goes as well. He can come back to UK and get better, no doubt. OR, he can get drafted somewhere in the first two rounds for the NBA. If he can make the travel squad he'll get better AND make a bunch of money. Even if he ends up in the D League, he gets better and makes money. He's really young, but he has lots of tools IMHO. His wing span is 88 inches lol.

Those are men in the G-League. Richards isn't playing in that. Those guys would absolutely kill him right now.

People WAY undersell how tough the G-League is. You just don't decide to go to the NBA and automatically land there.

Nick Richards is a guy who hasn't learned how to catch a basketball. His potential is unknown simply because he's so fiendishly far behind. Isaiah Briscoe was grown man tough; had some skill; got a shot in NBA Summer League. He's in Estonia right now.

There is no reason Nick Richards tries to chase that when he has no concept of how to play the game right now. Would be a colossal error beyond anything we've seen in the Cal era.

We've been to Estonia, and that's not a bad place to live, except it's probably very cold there now. They love they're freedom from the USSR.

If you're a freshmen who's been playing organized basketball for about three years you have a shot at so much more than Estonia.

I think Richards understands that. And I also think Cal understands that. People say he doesn't try to get kids to come back.

Well, if Nick Richards of all people is trying to go, I have to think he will talk Richards back simply because he'll have to. This team can't lose four or five. We don't have the numbers coming in for that to happen. This is a whole different deal.

Agree, Will. Coach Cal is recognized for his ability to put players into the NBA. He does NOT want to be recognized for letting kids go to the NBA TOO EARLY....only to fail.
