    Louisville Falls at Wake Forest

    Louisville's vaunted D gave up 88 points.

This is very good for Kentucky's bid for a 2 seed...though I do think teams are going to be rewarded for what they do in the ACC Tournament, mainly because that tourney will have so many eyeballs on it.

Crazy year continues. WF isn't a bad team and any road game in conference is tough. But still no one is taking control and separating themselves from the pack.
    Kentucky fan since 1971.

IF UK beats A&M, and wins the SEC tourney, do they become a 1 seed? They'll need help of course, but it seems feasible. I think they can absorb one more loss and still be a 2 seed. As we saw with the UL game, there are teams ranked ahead of UK that are going to get beat before the big dance starts.

No chance for a 1 seed. Only 2 wins against the RPI top 25...that's out of 1 seed territory.

I still think there are probably going to be two Pac-12 teams on the 2 line, and Gonzaga will likely be there. So Kentucky might be fighting for one slot.

Generally there isn't that big of a difference between the 2 and the 3 but I do think it's at least marginally significant because of the second round.

Two seeds beat 7 seeds 72% of the time, while 3 seeds beat 6 seeds 55% of the time.

I think the PAC 12 is going to be proof that conference tournaments do matter. To win it likely means a 1 seed, getting to stay in the west and getting Gonzaga as your 2 seed. As long as 2 of the Big 3 make the finals I think they get a 1,2 and probably a 3 seed.

Joe Lunardi seems to think the Cats are still in the hunt for a 1, although I think that's probably a pipe dream.

I'd say we're sitting snugly on the 2 line.

It would take literally every top 10 team losing the first game of their conference Tourney, and UK winning saturday along with the conference tourney and I still don't see how we could get it, or would deserve it.

If we don't lose a game in the next 10 days I will be pleasantly surprised and will hope that means we are moving in the right direction before the important games start.

                Totally agree.

Far more important than seed is how we're playing next week. Second to that are the particular match-ups. Michigan St. roared into the tournament last year, got a 2 seed...and then fell hard.

Probably. But like our team, we'll just have to wait and see.

Probably so. I would guess Kansas, Villanova, Oregon and UNC as 1's. UL, Gonzaga, UCLA , UK as 2's. Arizona, Baylor or Duke having a good showing in their tournament would be the wild cards.

To fall Louisville would likely either have to lose to Notre Dame this weekend, or lose early in the ACC Tournament. I doubt either happens.

Arizona looks like the Pac-12 team that Kentucky might be able to jump. They only have 1 win against the RPI top 25.

Question: would you be okay with a loss on Saturday if it meant we get the 2 in Villanova's region? If we win, we'll probably get the 2 in North Carolina's.

I want no part of Nova. Everyone on that team can shoot and we don't defend the three well.

There is no future in ever hoping for losses to get in a certain region, too many other variables that will affect the bracket to try and think you can lose or win your way to a certain spot.
