No, because losing might knock us down a seed. And because the committee is always looking for intriguing match-ups, they have shown that they will punish teams by throwing them in games against rivals or against mis-seeded teams.

Also, I'd rather win because teams that get hot in the conference tournaments often stay hot in the Dance.

I would not be okay with it. If we can't beat Texas A&M it won't matter who our 1 seed is because we won't make it that far.

Actually I misread KC's post. I thought by "Saturday" he meant the Saturday of the SEC Tournament.

I definitely don't think we'll be a 2 seed if we lose to Texas A&M. That'd be a bad loss. We'll get punished for that, rightfully so.

Lose Saturday and it may be a 4 seed. That would be a bad loss.

UL is 7-4 over the last 11 games. And 3-6 against ranked teams. They already have 7 losses and may get the 8th in the ACCT. That is not #2 seed territory, IMO.

While we all think a 1 seed is not possible for UK, they do have 9 wins against the top 50. Nova has 10, Kansas has 8 and UNC with 9. We have a SOS of 18 which is not bad. If we win out or even get to the SECT finals, we should be locked to a 2 seed, IMO.

If Arizona should win their league tourney and Gonzaga wins their tournament, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Zags as a 1 seed because they beat Arizona earlier this season. All just speculation but this is the best time of the year for us basketball junkies.

The committee generally discounts head-to-head results.

Yeah but when you play in the almighty ACC losses only count 1/2 as much.

dUKe probably has enough losses now to be in consideration for a 1 seed. All their losses are good losses and all their wins are monumental. Then you add in the dirtiest player in college basketball and the dirtiest coach in college basketball and you have the makings of the overall number 1 seed.

You guys are crazy. We'll be a 2 seed whether or not we lose on Saturday, granted we don't lose the first game of the SEC tournament.

And, sorry, Kevin, there is absolutely no way Kentucky drops to a 4 seed, no matter what happens at A&M or the SEC tourney. A 3 is our floor at this point, and it would take an epic collapse on our part and conference tourney championships for most of the teams above us to make that happen.

If we win out, we'll be in the conversation for a 1, for the reasons that Bob noted above.

I think we're hovering around a 3 seed now, mostly because of the Pac-12 and Gonzaga. If we're a 2 then we're really close to the cutoff line.

We were the lowest 3 in the reveal on February 11th. Some of the experts dropped us to a 4 before the Florida game. That game was the only substantial win we've had since that time.

Don't think we'd come through a loss to a bad Texas A&M game unscathed. Only way we would is if we had a couple of those other teams lose along with us.

We're snugly locked onto the 2 line right now. Lunardi thinks we're actually the second highest 2 seed at the moment.

And since then, we are 1 of only 4 (Oregon, KU, UCLA) teams that have not lost. Baylor, UL, UNC, UVA, and FSU have all lost 2 or more games since then. We should be a solid 2 right now. Just keep winning and we should not drop.

UL does a little better against WF when they have their playbook. Don't care if that's football. Still a chance to jab UL. Next time I will again.
