For the love of all things good and wholesome, for the fond memories of Adolph Rupp, William Bond Keightley, and of Mr. Ledford, and for the sake of the sanity of millions of Kentucky Fans the world over...PLEASE LET US WIN THIS GAME.

But also for retribution of past losses. For the painful memories of that day in January 2006 where Dick Vitale questioned the heart and the passion of that Rondo led (not led ) "team". For the loss in 2005 at Rupp and for Chuck Hayes just because Chuck Hayes . For the 1989 debacle where we found insight to The Man Possessed! PLEASE LET US WIN THIS GAME.

Please, oh gods of basketball, help Kentucky win this game. It's among our last opportunities to chalk up a quality win. It's our chance to prove we still are one of 2017's elite teams. It's Kansas and Kansas thinks they are better than Kentucky (they are not) . It's Rupp's alma mater. It's Calipari's former stomping grounds. We must win this game.

So, readers and esteemed members of WCN, please join me in formulating all the quality good karma you can possibly muster and help us win this *#%#-ing game. Our season is in precious balance.

There should be no need to double on Kansas. One, their frontcourt players aren't going to hurt you; Carlton Bragg can do some things but there shouldn't be a time we double him.

But also if you double them you'll give up jumpshots to two of the best shooting guards in college basketball. Way too much risk.

Matt started the thread with some of the bad games UK has had with KU. I will bring up some off the good ones.

UK has had much the better of the series. UK leads 22-7 all time. The best win of course was the 2012 national championship game. That is Cal's pinnacle game to this point as a head coach anywhere. UK also beat them in the 1999 NCAA tournament in a terrific overtime game that has been largely forgotten. One of the most memorable wins UK had against Kansas was in December of 1978. UK came from 6 points down with under 30 seconds to go to beat them. Dwight Anderson maybe a remarkable steal and flipped the ball while falling out of bounds to Kyle Macy who drilled about a 20 foot jump shot to tie the game. Kansas called a timeout but they didn't have any left. Macy hit the technical foul shot and UK had won one of the wildest comebacks you would ever want to see. This was before the shot clock and three point line so coming back from 6 down with under 30 seconds was almost unheard of back then.

At one time UK won 11 straight games against Kansas. From 1974 to 1985 Kansas couldn't beat UK. UK hammered Kansas on Rupp Arena dedication night in 1976. Also in ironic twist beat Kansas in December of 1977 the very night Adolph Rupp died. A game Kansas had named as Adolph Rupp Night. As most of you know Rupp was from Kansas and played for Phog Allen at Kansas.

So UK really has no "payback" to do in this game. They have been beating Kansas regularly going back to 1950 the first time they met. Hopefully it will just be a continuance of dominance that has been set in place for over 60 years.
