You get a chance at the champ, and that's the best effort you can give? You run into their strength? No reverses? No RPO, because you always hand it off? You put your RB beside your QB, so that the defense can always see that you don't hand it off? you don't use the middle of the field? You don't call one corner blitz?

I can handle losing to Alabama, but I cannot respect the lack of conviction of this staff. They didn't believe they could win. They didn't plan to win. And they didn't coach to win. Even if Alabama had played their worst game, this team was not prepared to win.
So the spread meant nothing to you? With better coaching we have a chance to win? OK. Sure.

Also wonder if the coaches were just trying to survive without any major injuries so they kept it straight forward.

It does seem that Vandy has our number. But once again the Vandy game becomes very important. Last year we win that game and we go to a bowl and the climate around the program is completed different. If we lose the Vandy game again this year I feel that the hole becomes to deep to get to that 6 win. I hope we break that hold Vandy seems to have on us.

I dont see any type of football style you can play that will stop injuries other than taking a knee every snap. I at least saw effort. Effort that was missing against Florida.

Agree about the effort. But straight ahead running, not throwing over the middle can be ways to limit injuries. Seen it at all levels.

This is my problem with this coaching staff, no in game adjustments. They run the same plays in the 2nd half as they did in the first half. I don't know, maybe they were worried about Ala speed and wanted to stay away from that. But change something, You come out the 2nd half and the first play is a run up the middle. The 2nd play is a run up the middle. Your making it too easy for the other team.

I am the same way about in game adjustments. I think the staff does not even try to discuss changes at the half and on top of that the poor offensive play calling. Our D has some life in it but the way the offense is called our D will never be able to win games. On the field way too much. Hope to see offensive changes or improvements like we have on D over the past couple of weeks.

Well, let's not forget that the spread isn't just based on the Jimmys and Joes. It's also about the X's and O's. Especially in college.

Imagine this. That game is to be played, and the staffs were switched. Players were the same. Do you think that would have changed the spread? You think the oddsmakers don't factor everything when they make a spread?

Could Nick Saban beat that team with ours? No. But Nick Saban would have had his team prepared if the other team was flat. He might have faked a punt. He would have called different games from one half to the next.

Absolutely no way to prove that.

The spread means absolutely nothing to me, unless I have money riding on the game.

Correct, thughes. In order to have any glimmer of hope, at bowl eligibility, we must beat Vandy, Missouri, and Austin Peay plus win one we're not expected to win (Miss. St., perhaps?).

In this game it meant something to me, and I didn't bet. There was just something insulting about the fact that 80-90% of the money was being bet on Alabama -35. I'm really happy they all lost BWAHAHAHAHA...

UK hung in there about as well as they could. They were outgunned, once again, at every position on the field. Just no comparison of talent between the two teams. Hopefully no injuries and UK can bounce back with a good game against Vandy. Must win against Vandy if they expect a bowl bid this year.
