I've got some friends I chuckle at, who, in one breath say they'd just be happy with 7-8 wins a season, a bowl game every year or so and a 9 win season here and there. Then when Miles is suggested, that bar is suddenly raised to where he's unacceptable.
I contend that they won in spite of him rather than because of him. Just like Alabama and Curry.

    No... just no.

In spite of himself, he had a better win-loss record at LSU than did Saban................
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

          This is a poor example.

There's likely a bump with going to a new coach and more importantly playing a team with the talent level of Mizzou, I doubt this is sustainable throughout. Are you saying Orgeron is that great of a coach?

LSU is going to beat just about anyone on just talent alone. Add to the fact that Mizzou is about the same as a bad UK team and hence a blow out win.

not saying that all all.....never said Les Miles wasn't a good coach..of course he was.....but he was fired for a reason and I just don't think Mitch goes after a coach who was fired.....IMO

I really don't think he'd 7 to 8 games here. I think he'd crash and burn. There is only one way that this program gets turned around. Stoops said it, "everybody has to be moving in the same direction."

If everybody is moving in the same direction, which one do you want leading you: Stoops or Miles?

Miles. Better recruiter and has done more with 3 and 4 talent.

Les Miles still doesn't have another coaching job.

It may be the end of the line for Les.

He isn't a good coach... Problems he had at LSU with all their resources would be a DISASTER at a lesser program.

I think some top programs would be reluctant to hire a 63 year old coach.

Miles' buyout also means he doesn't have to settle for a lesser coaching job.

It's hard for me to say a coach who has a national championship and 2 SEC championships 'isn't a good coach.'

However it's unlikely he's going to coach at a smaller school, and a major school probably isn't going to want a 63 year old guy to come in and breathe new life into the program.
