Petrino has always wanted to be in the SEC.
Remember the over night flight to Auburn when Tommy Tuberville was still coach.
Quit the Atlanta Falcons in the middle of the season to go to Arkansas.
We could wake up on Monday and find him as coach of LSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Comment

Of course he stays. He is giving Pitino all the competition he can handle for King of Da Ville. Why go to a school like LSU and have to play in a league where you play ranked teams week after week. AND are expected to win ALL of them. He sold his soul to The Bird school and Jurich. He isn't even thinking about giving up his royalty after all the stuff he has pulled.Comment

Miles seems like a retread. I don't think I would want to him at UK. I doubt seriously he would come anywhere close to the success he had at LSU. When and if UK goes looking for a new coach they need a young energetic person who hopefully would have the clout and flair on the recruiting circuit as well as be an outstanding coach. Think that's asking too much?Kentucky fan since 1971.Comment

I think Miles would get them one step further compared to Stoops. he wouldn't be able to recruit like he has at LSU, Lexington isn't Baton Rouge and UK football doesn't have the history as LSU. With that said, there are a few options that will likely be avail. that I would ave more confidence getting UK above 5 wins compared to Stoops. It's just a matter of whether you want a retread (Miles, Kelly), top assistant (Aranda), or an up and comer (Fleck).Comment

Not necessarily. It's much easier to recruit for LSU. But would he do well? Probably. I wouldn't want Miles but I wouldn't be opposed to his hire.Isaiah 5:20Comment

Miles is 62 years old. Only reason UK hires him is to right the ship akin to Rich Brooks and then bring someone in to continue where he left off. Otherwise, nope.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

That's what I would hope for, 3-4 years of recruiting classes to get them in the 6-8 win range (unlike at LSU) have a good OC that will eventually take over or better yet, have some OCs/DCs leave during his tenure due to promotion and the continue to hire solid coordinators and one of them replace Miles. Just don't make the Phillips mistake.Comment

Miles' achilles heel is never having developed or recruiting good to great quarterbacks. Evidently his philosophy is have good to great players at all the other positions and your QB doesn't have to be great, just average.Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

It's similar to Alabama in that regard (without the overall success of Bama). Never been able to find a successful offensive system that develops QBs, Harris was highly recruited but has not taken that next step. He'll never go for a Baylor type of offense, he'll go for a pro-style offense and without a good QB, you can't win at the level of Bama.Comment
