That being said, I am against contract extensions based on short term results.
Sure, but do the extension at the end of the season, don't do it midway into his second season of a 4 (or 5?) year contract.

The flip side is firing coaches after 2 or 3 years of a 4 or 5 year deal. If we want that, then just sign them to 2 or 3 year contracts.

Agreed regarding extensions on short term results.
Extremism is so easy. You've got your position, and that's it. It doesn't take much thought. And when you go far enough to the right you meet the same idiots coming around from the left.

I would say Mitch B doesn't like coaching searches. He agreed to the coach in waiting program when Brooks was considering retiring and signed CMS to an extension on his first five win season....likely counting on seven the next year when we had what????? Eight home games?
