Georgia Tech just scored 66 points against UL. The amazing part is they attempted 2 passes the entire game, with 1 completion worth 12 yards. 542 rush yards with 8 touchdowns.

And the real shame it was on ESPN for the world to see.

By the last game of the season, UL will be 2-9 and I suspect completely demoralized. Attendance, after just completing a $63 million dollar expansion(LOL), is plummeting. There's a real chance there will be more blue than red at that game. It continues to be a rough time to be a U6 fan. A Federal hearing was just completed and it looks "iffy" for UL BB once again. There's the ongoing trial with Quick Rick. The school's finances are in very difficult shape. And their FB program, on a collision course with the National Championship, is imploding.

Good back story on that game. Johnson was Georgia Southern's coach and when Van Gorder took over, he slammed Johnson's Triple Option Offense saying he wanted his team to play a 21st century offense. Johnson had been wanting to play a Van Gorder team ever since, going on record as saying he wants to "beat the hell out of Van Gorder". He got his wish and UL is now in a free fall.

Dave I love your post and basically agree. BUT--it doesn't seem to matter how many times they screw up and how many fines they pay--there's always enough money for whatever they want in athletics. Their new basketball coach didn't come cheap and all this in uncertainty was already in place when they went out and got him. A lot of professors can roll their eyes with every expenditure but the priorities are are set in stone. Most profitable athletics program in the country you know. 🙄
