I guess I'm a little unclear on why Petrino would be on the hot seat. While he hasn't performed as expected, he has been decent until this year.

Not just that, if this trial keeps going the way it is, the death penalty may be on the table for the program.

That last part is mighty feeble spin. It is not a blessing to be in such a shoddy financial position, and saddled with such a lopsided contract, that you cannot afford to shed a poor performer whose poor performance is going to compound your financial problems as fans stay away. (It looks like a pretty blunt suggestion that Petrino needs to ditch the nepotism hires.)

That's where his main problem lies. Well, besides his own make up.

He lost 18 games in a weak division of a so-so conference the last 4 years with arguably the best, at the very least, most electric, QB in the nation. This year his record is 2 and suck with these remaining games:

            @ Boston College
            @ Syracuse
            @ Clemson

            and home games against

            Wake Forrest
            NC State
            UK

are they going bowling. Not a chance in France.

Yeah, he for sure hasn't delivered like they hoped, not arguing that. Especially last year, they truly failed to make hay with Lamar Jackson. I'm just surprised people want him fired.

Add to hot seat reasons the number of scanned tickets (actual attendance) at each of their home games:

                2017

                46,224 Clemson
                34,014 Kent State
                38,317 Murray State
                32,544 Boston College
                31,893 Virginia
                19,715 Syracuse

(insert here expenditure of $63,250,000 to add 5,700 new seats despite averaging about 20,000 empty seats per game)

                2018

                22,615 Indiana State
                42,976 Western Kentucky
                38,496 Florida State
                35,785 Georgia Tech
                TBD Wake Forest
                TBD NC State
                TBD Kentucky

They're averaging less than 38,000 attendees per game since the end of the 2016 season. Surely their budgets assumed more fans than that, more concession sales than those numbers can generate, more ticket and parking pass sales than you have if only 38,000 people are showing up per game, etc. Those empty seats aren't likely to fill in 2019 if you bring the same coach back.

                    I hadn't realized U of L expanded CS again.

Meanwhile they have those weird red fisher-price seats that appear to have faded to pink.

So did losing 38-20 to Boston College hurt Louisville’s chances of making the playoff? Asking for a friend.

                        Lol.
looking at the Louisville board I believe a lot have found morality and question BP being rehired after his Arkansas deal.

There is a small but growing swell that for some reason believe Petrino and staff can be fired and Brohm convinced to come to Louisville.
Between buyout deals, that would cost the Ville about 30 million. AND they say they are as close to bankrupt financially as they have been morally.

Good to be a Cat fan right now.

Isnt Georgia Tech the team that illegal chop blocks on every play?

Every UL fan that I know wants Petrino gone after the season. Jackson covered up a lot of their flaws the past few seasons. They have a bad O line and defense. Before the year started Petrino praised his team as being deep and talented and the fastest team he has ever had. And the UL fans ATE IT UP. I heard plenty rumblings about a possible Bama upset, lol! I would LOVE to play these guys right now. I hope we continue our rise. I have a ticket for the UL game this year.
