Just in my frame of thought.....kid had some talent, and started real well. Faded a bit towards the tail of the season.
once more, though....one of two players that really lost it in the Louisville game. Addressed by even the athletic director.....which counting assistants and coordinators means his boss's, boss's, boss's boss.
Given (from what we had been told) a way out of the doghouse. Had to sit out the Music City Bowl and from what I recall was pretty much goodbye at that game....which the defense actually played VERY well, I believe. Once again, announced he would be back.
I disagree with many posters on different sites that see this as a death knell for the defense...I believe RV has pointed out at least three players in line to step in and hopefully step up.
The young guy had talent. There are some that seemed to think it was Art Still talent. I just didn't see it.
Next man up.Comment

It is what it is, but it never helps to lose a Sr. with all that experience, unless he's detrimental to team morale.Philippians 4:11-4:13👍 1Comment

Matt, I guess I'm losing my mind, but I thought a couple players gave a 'thanks for the memories' kinda talk about DW at the bowl game.
maybe the surprise should have been he came back for spring.Comment

Word is that Ware is transferring to Jacksonville State. That news sheds a whole new light on the situation. There are four basic reasons someone would transfer. One is to improve one’s draft stock. Another is to improve the opportunity to win a national championship or get more PT. A third is that obligations forced one to leave, And the fourth is that you are asked to leave. With this move, it is clear that neither number one nor number two were the reason for his departure. One can only conclude that he was either pulled or pushed out the door.Last edited by SBCatMan; 05-11-2018, 11:53 AM.Comment

Per a post on another board, his brother plays at Jacksonville State. I scanned the Jax St roster but didn't find a Ware.Word is that Ware is transferring to Jacksonville State. Latest posts on other sites indicate the Kentucky coaching staff was not surprised, horrified, distraught or hand-wringing over DWs decision to further his career elsewhere.
Perhaps Jax State is just closer to home. Whatever. Great experience + talent upwards + don't want to be here equals not much.
Best of luck to the young man and I hope he finds happiness.Comment

He put his name in the draft only to return to school to play his Senior season. The kid has graduated and now goes to a lesser school perhaps to get injured. I don't get it. I mean, doesn't he expect to be picked in the draft next year? Why doesn't he just make himself available to the NFL supplemental draft?Comment
