    Weather (Update 5/17/25)

Hoping you all don’t get any remnants of the weather pattern that went through Mississippi, etc. yesterday. Stay safe.

We've had lots of thunderstorms and wind this weekend, but no problems that I know of.

Glad to hear it. Many were impacted by this system. Wishing everyone a calm weather day.

The storms seem to have moved out of our area, but the wind is still pretty strong.

Some tilt up concrete walls about 20 ft tall got blown down yesterday at River Ridge Commerce Park in Jeffersonville. Fortunately no one working in the vicinity when it happened.

I live on the edge of the Hill Country, close enough to see the smoke/orange skies yesterday from 9,000 acres that are burning there. I went back home so I could help my dogs get out if needed. This wind, heat and drought are a bad combination.

Wow. Is drought normal this early in the year?

Some years we get rain, not usually. 1981, we did. Floods. Seems like about 16 years ago, too. To about mid July we had rain, I believe. 1994 was a memorable year with no spring. 2011 or so was a record breaker. 90 days of triple digit temps. Talk about baking...it was horrendous. Think I need a “survivor” T-shirt.

Nasty weather tomorrow evening. Most of Kentucky is in the TORCON 5 area. I am very respectful of Mother Nature. Stay safe.
