Interesting question: has Gerard Butler ever made a good movie? Like just one?

I liked Law Abiding Citizen and 300. This movie tjey made his character over the top with cliches. The drunk, loose cannon cop who is served divorce papers because he is only married to his work. This movie was a straight Heat ripoff. Zero redeeming qualities other than maybe a few action sequences.

        I don't know if it's a "good" movie but I enjoyed 300.

I haven't seen it but I know RocknRolla has its fans.

I know 300 has its fans, but I always thought it was overproduced trash.

I saw "Law Abiding Citizen" when it came out, but I can't remember a thing about it.

I know I’m late to this, but I didn’t see what all the Knives Out fuss was about. I think my jaw was supposed to drop in the end, but the big reveal just made me shrug and say, “well.”

The whole thing was pretty boring, tbh. Not the modern-day Clue I was hoping for.

I've yet to watch it, but those I know that have have liked it a lot.

"Knives Out" was a victim of its own hype, I think.

It was a good movie, no more, no less. I compare it to "Get Out" from 2017: both were fine movies in their own right, but they were both extremely overrated.

"Ready Or Not" was a much better movie than "Knives Out," in my opinion, and went way under the radar.

Jordan Peele movies are good, but also annoying. I get to the end and instead of thinking about what I liked, I start running down a possible list of social commentary that Twitter will reveal I missed.

It’s usually either not as keen or subtle as Peele and/or fans think it is, or too contrived to be a natural part of the narrative.

MidSommar is probably the best movie I’ve seen lately, btw.

                      You actually enjoyed "Us"?

That was one of the biggest pieces of shit I've seen in recent years. Just a complete misfire.

It was one of those movies that quietly hypnotizes you. About an hour into it I was wondering what the hell I was watching... then I slowly became entranced. By the end, I was all in.

On the other hand, I thought Ari Aster's previous movie "Hereditary" was terrible. Pure misery porn.

It was inferior to Get Out in every possible way, and there were times when I didn’t think I liked it. But by the end I was still interested (even though the twist was obvious), so I didn’t think it was a total loss.

I was willing to give it a pass until Peele made us want to believe that there was an entire world existing merely a stairway underneath the ground. I guess nobody noticed it when they were burying water pipes.

Usually I don't mind stuff in movies like that, but when the entire movie hinges on it... yikes.

Not to mention the comedy totally deflated any sense of tension. There were some great production values on display in search of a script that had moved past the first rough draft.

See there? That’s one of those token Peele social comments about how upper-classes never even notice those beneath them. About as subtle as a sledge hammer.

His willingness to emphasize a metaphor in a film that is very story-driven is one of many sloppy choices that make me question his status as “visionary.”

                                Oh, I got it...

Hes a much better visual storyteller than he is social commentator.
