As you may imagine, I have lots of songs, artists and groups I love to listen to, but the Beatles are my favorite and this song is one of my favorites by them. As were many of their songs, this song was written with a romantic basis but it means so much more to me. As I look back over my life's journey, it reminds me of so many loving, kind and wonderful people I have met most of whom are now traveling their eternal journey.

It means so much more to me, too. I know it has a romantic message, but to me, it speaks about people, places, and times in the distant and recent past. I read a response in which someone said they sang this song to a loved one in the last 5 minutes of life. I loved that.

^ This song reminds me of the times we traveled back to Kentucky at Christmas. Every year, we’d take our camper and go back home. We’d take a small, lighted Christmas tree to put in the window. Campsites weren’t crowded, but we’d camp among those who were doing the same - a sense of community.
