Thon Maker - RECLASSIFYING to 2015

So it depends on the NCAA Clearinghouse what he will do.

I sure hope that he does get cleared by the NCAA, but only if he decides to come here. I would really hate to see him go to Kansas and all signs lead to it being a two horse race between UK and KU.

I know Cal wanted him to wait and stay in 2016. I think it's highly unlikely he comes to UK with Skal signed on and with Lee and maybe Dakari returning.

Crappy part is, he probably ends up at KU and Skal may never get qualified.

I sure hope he waits until spring to make a decision, because who knows, Dakari could leave, and in that case, there is no reason he should be scared of losing minutes to Skal and Lee. The whole Skal thing really worries me as well, I sure hope that Cal is 100% sure he is gonna be able to suit up, or that may hurt us. I really hope that Cal can still convince him to come here, I really hate seeing a guy go to KU instead of us!

Looks like it is still not a guarantee that Maker is going to re-classify, maybe Cal has talked him out of it.

Maker update: Thon Maker, a 7-foot center from Orangeville Prep in Mono, Ontario, who is ranked No. 5 in the Class of 2015 by Rivals.com, spoke about KU and Kentucky to pickandroll.com.
“I (visited KU) in the summer. I got to watch some tape of the (Morris) twins. I also got to see their weight room facility and how they work. They have a pretty good setup, also (along with Kentucky). That was a good visit. I also sat down with coach Self and that was a great conversation that we had, that was a comfortable visit, also.
“I visited Kentucky previously, I got to see their coaching and see them as a unit from the sideline. Also I spoke with coach (John Calipari) and he told me how he showed interest in recruiting me. And as a program I’ve been watching them for a little bit so I know much about them.”
Maker said there’s still a chance he could stay in the Class of 2016, contrary to reports earlier last week."

If he does decide to do so I have no doubt that UK and KU are the only two schools that he would consider going to. I say we would have the edge based on how we have help developed big lengthy guys like himself over the years.

Skal is already qualified..Don't know why you worry. The NCAA and UK have been checking out his guardian but the guy says he is co-operating and has done nothing wrong to jeopardize Skal. We should be good to go here.
