Jefferson's still a long-armed big man. The difference between 6'9" and 7' isn't all that great. I don't see how his return couldn't mean fewer minutes for Bolden.

No but the difference in the type of player Jefferson is and the type Bolden is is pretty great.

Jefferson is kind of your prototypical garbage guy. He's a rebounding, high-energy 4. Bolden is a pure 5.

But as I said, Giles has to be on the floor. Everybody and his mother knows that. (Unless he's still gimped.) Jefferson also is going to need to be on the court. You've also got Jeter in there. So it's a little hazy in there and there will be competition.

At Kentucky Bam will have to be on the floor. Behind him there's a little competition, but the Bolden camp would have to be pretty confident in the fact that he could beat out Humphries and Wynyard.

Well if they're somehow not unanimously confident about that then we don't want him anyway.

Maybe I am just over simplifying the situation but I think it is just Bolden waiting for scholarship to open up at UK. He knows he has one waiting at Duke so if he was going there, why wait? I think he plays for UK if Lee or Briscoe leaves.

I hope you're right. I'm beginning to think that way, too. Or at least to leave his options open until fully weighing his final choice. Not sure the chance of getting him is as lopsided as the predictions have made it out to be.

Never in the history of the world has a recruitment gone so dark so quick as this Bolden thing.

NOTHING since Friday before last. Totally strange and unprecedented in all my time following basketball recruiting.

I'm probably being too optimistic, but the longer we wait, the more I believe that he's waiting for an official word on Lee.

Then again, he could come in and play over Lee from day one. So, who knows?

Probably. But is it really guaranteed the 20th best player in the incoming freshman class is better than a former McD's AA in his 4th year in the program? Again, probably.

One upside is he gives us a position we need.

He may not be "better" on the whole. I've watched him three times and don't see an immediate star at all. But we don't need a star. We need somebody who can anchor the post and give us consistent minutes as a body--something we dreadfully missed last season. Hopefully (if he signs with us) by March he will grow into himself as a player.

You kind of know what you're going to get with Lee unless there's a pretty substantial overhaul of his game. And even though I'd like to have Lee back, we've got at least three more guys on the roster who can play his position.

I normally watch some all-star action but haven't at all this year. Haven't seen him play once. I still want him pretty badly though because we are suspect in the post.

In speaking to The Montgomery Advisor, DeSoto head coach Chris Dyer said his star player is still struggling with it.

"It’ll be either blue and white or blue and white," Dyer said.

"He says, 'Coach is this a life-altering decision? This could really impact my life.' I said, 'Yeah, OK. But you’re still going to school.'"

This makes getting Bolden even more important than ever.

Duke's Tatum says he feels confident Bolden will pick Duke, says they talk a lot.

And that is the most news we've had on Bolden all week!
